I work for ACORN, we're a non-profit org. and I love the work we do in low income communities, educatoin reform, etc. etc. etc... But if we try to form a union they'll fire us!! They fight for raised minimum wage, and then fight in courts so they don't have to pay us those wages!!! WTF!!! I'm so frustrated right now. Any suggestions?

You have the right to organize. It is an illegal unfair labor practice to fire you for doing so. Go to the US Department of Labor web site & poke around for some ideas. As I recall any number of employees at a single location can sign a letter requesting the National Labor Relations Board to conduct a vote on establishing a collective bargaining organization (ie. a union). The employer cannot interfere so long as you confine your activities to your own time & off the premises. The NLRB doesn't charge for its services. Bear in mind that your bosses & many co-worker will begin treating you as if you are Osama Bin Ladin & your future with the organization will be, shall we say, problematic. They will look for any legal excuse to get rid of you.

there's a documentary noted as "Wal-Mart: The intense value of low priced" - examine it out. i'm useful you may locate it on line someplace, or in case you have Netflix you could flow it. it rather is totally eye-beginning...I merely watched it the different day and that i will never keep at Wal-Mart lower back. curiously, Wal-Marts in Germany are unionized and rather all of us loves it. regularly i do no longer help unions, yet there's a reason unions exist. some businesses take earnings of their workers in an extremely intense way, and unions earnings workers in those situations. useful, costs could bypass up if Wal-Mart had a union, yet i could extremely pay an further dollar for a head of lettuce than know that the familiar Wal-Mart worker makes approximately $13,000/12 months whilst the 4 Walton heirs are multi-billionaires and Chairman Lee Scott makes $30 million a 12 months. .
