Is a (Ohio) company liable for any damage if an employee travels of his own free will to another state to work for a different unit of that same company. I wanted to travel to Detroit and work then return to Cincinnati where the people in Detroit would transfer my payroll back to Cincinnati.
The company says I can't because they would be liable if anything bad happened. I don't believe they are telling the truth. I volunterred to do this........doesn't that mean they are not liable?

1)Taxes come out of my check
2) My Boss says I am a Independent contractor
3) Cost me over 1000 dollars when he disallowed me to travel for other companies.

I am a beer vendor. I sell beer in the seats of sports parks.
My boss says I am not allowed to travel and work for other outlets in the company even though I am allowed to work when I want to work with no harm to me as long as I call 3 hours before the event.
I did all that...My union is weak........
What should I do?

I was recently forced to quit my job after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a coworker (he got to keep his job!). I want to file a lawsuit but since I am now unemployed it's unlikely I can afford an attorney. Any idea where I can find an attorney that might take my case pro bono or on a contigency basis or something? I definitely can't front any money for this. By the way, I live near Chicago, in case anyone might be familiar with any agencies or attorneys here that might be able to help? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks!

My job wont hire me full time if I have a felony on my record but the probation that I took is supposed to be deferred. What will my record look like if my job looks into it.

Question for Commonwealth countries and the U.S. only please. I have observed that most countries which apply the Common law are doing better than those that apply the old, cruel and vindictive civil law?

Ok, so there are these new adds about human rights on TV right..

All I want to know is, why would they have human right laws about Discrimination, when apparently there is a new law coming out which gives employers the right to sack employees because they don’t like them.

Also, another human right is freedom of expression, why do people get fined for Graffiti?

Isn’t the government just contradicting themselves???

But I just want to know what are your thoughts on this.

Both elevators in my apartment building have not been inspected since 2001. They make horrible noises and i really would rather NOT die in an elevator accident. Does anyone know who i can directly report to since the landlord does not care??

Our school issues a form that you must sign giving the school and staff consent to photograph you for yearbook and the school's web page...We never signed it, in fact I tore it up because I didn't want them putting my picture on their website...Well, They went ahead and did it anyways, I was Student of the Month for Feburary 2005 and they have my picture and my name under it on their website...Are they breaking the law, (since neither me nor my guardian signed the paper?)..I'm not really angry about it being on there, It's just the principle of the thing.
