When people are on trial and the media is covering the procedings...
Do they tend to give both the prosecution AND the defense equal attention? Or do they simply make the person look guilty from the start?

this is what i'm trying to say. the prisoners should earn something to make them feel that they need to change , so that when they come out in society they want better lifestyles than when they went in. who wants to live in a prison? People, it isn't what you think it is. There is abuse, sexual , mental, physical abuse form inmates as well as prison officials. Would you like those people to come into our world? There are prisoners who take advantage of the schools and workshops, then theres those who just lift weights, do drugs, along with smuggling them in, who don't care about life. Those will still get released out here, so they should be made to enroll in school, to work before they are released. The only reason they should earn money is so we , don't have to pay for them. They only have a limited supply of items that they can purchase, there money has to be put in a trust fund and they are monitored. We don't need more prisons, we need actual rehibilitation.

This is in Austin. He said that we could get out of the lease without penalty due to the fact that he has not done the prediscussed fixings of the apartment. I asked for the last months rent back and we'd move out within days and he said he didn't have it anymore.

So now I got a note on the door saying to pay the rent by the 8th or we will be kicked out (not verbatim, but pretty much what it said). Can he do this?

The ceiling has caved in on me while I slept, no knobs to use the stove til 22 days into the lease, filth and grime under the fridge, the tiolet flooded upstairs and ran down the wall into our electric stove and soooo much more. The ceiling is still buckling in places. We have pictures of EVERYTHING.

As I have heard a verbal agreement between parties is the same as a written agreement.

What can/ should I do? We don't have anywhere else to go and he's trying to get away with being a slumlord.

Please help!

A nun searched my Junior in High School after shse claimed to received a tip. He is an honor role student who has never been in trouble before. He asked to call me and she denied him the request, but instead put her hands in his pockets and emptied them, then went to his locker. Of course, she found nothing. Is that legal in a Catholic School

He's applying for grad school, and he doesn't want anything to affect his chances to get in...! He was on his way to a baseball game walking with an open beer bottle (I know, not very smart). Beside the $50.00 fine, will there be other consequences? Thank you.

I live in Los Angeles in a rent controlled area and I'm wondering if this is a legal reason for eviction. We've had no problems with him and always complied like good tenants, so the only reason he'd be kicking us out is to let his brother move in.

Many of us know that there are people hired by the government who had a clean back ground and yet still stole, lied, committed some type of fraud. If they want a criminal to get better and want them to pay fees, then hire them. You will know where they are at all times and the government can take their fees off the top of the convicted felons pay check. Lets really help people to better themselves instead of making them depend on welfare since no one will hire them. That is what I call putting tax payer money to good use.

Could I sue someone for intentionally slamming on their brakes which in turn caused me to rear end them? It didn't happen...but hypothetically. Let's say someone thought I was tailgating them so they decided to slam on their brakes to teach me a lesson. Could I sue them for that? They did intentionally cause damage to me and my car (hypothetically).
