IF SO FIGHT FOR IT!
New York's highest court delivered its decision on
whether same-sex couples have the right to marry and they said our families DO NOT deserve the protections of marriage.
----->Tonight, there will be a rally at 6 PM at Sheridan Square (west 4th Street and 6th Avenue). Because of this landmark decision, we need you to come out TONIGHT in order to tell our legislators and all New Yorkers that this decision is not good for New York.
Pride is just not about parties and parades, its about being proud enough to stand up for who you are and fight for your rights! DO YOU HAVE PRIDE???

And please leave "God" and Bible quotes out of your answer as we expect to leave religion out of government policy.

Remember in your answer we are suppose to be a "free" country.

My 16 yr stepdaughter wants to be emancipated. She is a constant runaway, she refuses to deal with the consquences when she gets in trouble. Drinking, Smoking, Curfew, Stealing, Suspensions, etc. She has been on the run for 2 weeks now living with Spanish speaking ppl, (she speaks english only) her bio mother is supporting her 2 be emancipated. (she can't go back and live with mom, cause of her influences on her baby sisters) My husband is against her being emancipated and says she needs to come back here and carry out her concequences. But she refuses. What is to be expected in court and what do Santa Clara County Judges look for when deciding these cases. What will he say?

Husband was accused of theft involving a bank deposit bag that another employee took to the bank. A lie detector test was given and it was said that he "failed". Charges were filed and he was arrested but then all charges were dropped by the State Attorney due to lack of evidence. Can we sue for slander? There were a lot of other people involved who could have taken this money and the owner of the business are prominent people in our town and it was said that the arrest was "politically motivated". They wanted to get this resolved to cause the business owner no further problems. The detective in the cas told my husband, even before questioning, that he was going to arrest him and set a high bond.

My company offers employees the opportunity to earn comp time in lieu of overtime pay. However, we are required to work over 44 hours a week before comp time will begin accruing. So, if I was to work 45 hours in a week, I will have earned 1 hour of comp time. Are there any laws saying that it has to be over 44 hours? It would seem fair if it was anything over 40 was considered comp time. I have heard of the Taft-Hartley Act, but I am unsure of how to address this issue with the Directors at my place of employment.

My husband was assulted by a guy that was drunk and had been kicked out of the bar and they let him come back. My husband told the guy to back off cause he was messing with me and they guy decided to smash two 16oz glasses full of beer on my husbands face while he was playing pool...all of which was caught on video tape. We had not even been there for 45 mins when this happened, and we had not even had a drink yet (we mainly went out to play pool). My husband sustained some pretty bad injuries on his face neck and ear...should we sue? Also could we sue the bar for over serving and allowing him to come back after they had already kicked him out once? The whole incident is on surrvellence tape. Any advice would be helpfull.
Thanks in advance!

having lethal weapons in your house seems something that would belong more in 15th century england than 21st century america, you have more gun crime than anyone else, i dont know about developing countries but definetly in the free world. so come on america, why do you have guns? no answers saying it is our right as americans coz i know that i wanna know why you as a person want them not the reasons you were brainwashed with at school

just like the native american indians.....I strongly believe so. Think about this....it would get rid of corrupt lawyers, judges, and cops. Criminals would not exist since being persecuted by one's own communtiy would be even worse. We can even go as so far as to say that felony offenses would be punishable by death. Who would steal if theiir arms would be chopped off. or who would rape if they would get castrated. I personally find that all lawyers, cops, and judges are dishonest and greedy, and are all destroying humanity. I would rather let my daughter date a felon than letting her be friends with either a lawyer or a cop.

Would you fight back or would you take the beating because the law is "Always right" and later try to testify in court on the cops who did this to you? Me, personally, I don't know at the moment so I can say I would or would not. However, if I think these cats are trying to beat me to death. Well...then it's on like popcorn! I'm going to die fighting if I have to! What do you think?

My dog got out of my yard today and he got picked up by the animal shelter. He is not neutered. I had to pay a fee for him being at large. That is fine I understand. But they charged me a $20 fee for him not being neutered. In my county there is no law that requires me to have him neutered. Do you think this is fair?

they have been kicking this case around for months without even coming close to getting a conviction. Saddam is pulling a fast one and he is stretching out this case for as long as he can. He is hoping that the US will pull out Iraq and he will then have a chance of regaining the presidency. We must not forget that we are dealing with one of the slipperyist people in the world. He must be convicted very soon and executed. Prolonging his trial is very dangerous.
