Yes. It would be hard, but I would do it. If they did it once, they're capable of doing it again.

I have worked in the law enforcement field for several years and my husband is a retired Criminal Investigator. I would report my family member or friend to the police if they committed a crime. Especially for something as severe as murder or rape. What gives someone the right to take the life or right to say no away from someone. No one should be above the law. Everyone should be accountable for their actions. That is why we have the system that we do. I will say that our system is not perfect but after studying it and other countries judicial systems. We are not all that bad. If they did a crime then they have to face the consequences of their actions and let the system determine if they should go free or not. What they did not only affects the victim but also the families of both the suspect and the victim. Could you live with yourself knowing that your brother/sister killed someone?

I think I would have to. If my Son or Brother committed such a horrific crime I would want them off the streets so they would not hurt anyone else. Same for the murders and rapists I don't know.

Most of us would not enjoy reporting a relative that was involved in a felony; however, it could be in his or her best interest to do so and all states have a statute that is entitled compounding a felony (maybe different wording in some states) but it means if you are aware of a felony and failed to report it then you can be charged and put on trial

Most definatly yes. I wouldn't allow a person who committed such a crime run free even if I was related to them. It would allow other people to be victims too if you didn't report them. That would put a horrible dent in the crime department. I mean if people let that happen.

Definitely. That is a disgusting act. I could not live with a guilty conscience of knowing my family member committed a horrible act like that with the potential of getting away with it. I would call the cops immediately. I would no longer consider that person my sibling.

Great question, by the way. It depends: if it was rape and they were guilty, I would turn them in. Obviously a person that does such a thing is sick. If it was murder, it would depend on the circumstances, but I would probably not turn them in.

It depends.
Yes : If I believed they deserved jail time or death. Reasons being, they have not changed, they hurt someone who didn't deserve it, they knew what they were doing.
No : If it was an accident or something of the sort. I'd have to choose with my own mind whether or not I believed they deserved to face the pentalties. Police and courts do not always give 'real' justice.

Just to protect society, I sure would report a son, brother or sister. Justice has to be done, no matter who did it.

i most likely would, the family of the victim needs to know, it's closure. Think if u were the victims family, the best thing to do is report them. Good Luck, and I hope ur not in that situation.

Yeah, because it would be the right thing to do... I would find it hard to live with myself knowing that I knew such a terrible crime had been committed and I did nothing about it...
