Many of us know that there are people hired by the government who had a clean back ground and yet still stole, lied, committed some type of fraud. If they want a criminal to get better and want them to pay fees, then hire them. You will know where they are at all times and the government can take their fees off the top of the convicted felons pay check. Lets really help people to better themselves instead of making them depend on welfare since no one will hire them. That is what I call putting tax payer money to good use.

EVERYONE...I MEAN EVERYONE has committed a felony in their short lives. My own brother used to sell drugs as a teenager. Today, he is a lawyer. He simply didn't get caught in high school. If he WOULD have been caught, he would be in prison today. Some people have been caught...most haven't. Depending on the job (and the length of time between the crime and present day), many employers do not look too deep into your past. For most jobs, a 10 year old felony is NEVER checked.

There are MANY MANY excons in today's world who earn a good living. Some work great jobs by luck. Others have crappy jobs. Others have four part-time jobs. It doesn't matter, they ARE out there.

YOU CAN GET A JOB AS A FELON. FELONS WORK EVERYDAY - waiting tables, picking up trash, sales jobs, contractor assistants, delivering newspapers in the early morning, etc.

YOU CAN GET A JOB. IF YOU USE IT AS AN EXCUSE, THEN YOU WILL REVERT BACK TO CRIME. If you ever get caught again.....you will never have a decent life.

Smarten up. Work as much as you can until you find something better. You CAN do it.

There's no flat-out ban on a felon being hired for a government job. But.... many 'types' of government job are barred to felons. Anything that involves working with money, or that would give you access to peoples personal data will be barred to you. Many types of license - weapons, medical/psychiatric, financial, etc, are barred to felons. Any career in law enforcement is barred to you. So, being a psychiatrist is a government hospital - no. Being an assessor for the IRS - no. Being a cop - no. Being a janitor in a government hospital - not legally barred. Richard

Yeah tards, let's let felons work in government positions like Social Security so they can have full access to the populations personal information, then commit mass fraud, then go on a spending spree. Many, many lives will be destroyed, and maybe they can get away with tens of millions of dollars then head across the border and never be caught, but at least we won't have to worry about losing them to welfare and food stamps, right? I hope that simple minds that would even imply what you just did never get government jobs either.

Its a shame and an abomination and if you study some history of the early church and justice practices around the time of the inquistion you will see how it just carried on.
I hope and pray you will find a job. The gov't is useless, immoral, and pretty much stupid and greedy and it will stay that way forever.
People don't know how to live without corporate or regular mafias to control them.
When you learn to live without it, you are successful in the eyes of the Lord in my opinion. This world sucks, I am ready to go I have no loyalty to anyone and I am not for sale.
If you study end times prophecy you may learn something. I do forgive you and I hope that others will see through to the people and see that they paid they're price and they should be forgiven. But as in the crucifixion, the angry mob was the primary reason for killing a man of poor and having a murderer released to them.

You seem to have had more than your share of experience of corrupt officials. However, believe me, not all govt. officials are corrupt. I should know since I was such an officials myself. You may cynically say that of course thieves will give character certficate to thieves. However i agree with you that making money in government service is comparatiely easy and risk free. But your upbringing and strength of character has a bearing on the matter. While a needy man may willy-nilly have to shell out money I found that many people approaching government offices want to speed up their work and are willing to pay the fees. While it is true that in case the matter is urgent the client could not help it if we were to resolve not to give in may be we have to make more frequent visits to the office, believe me,the work does get done. Now a days with the Right of Information it has become easier to ensure that the work is attended to within a specified time or else! The remedy suggested by you is out of desperation .And while government is bound to take steps for social welfare employing dishonest persons to make their millions is certainly not going to serve the purpose.

I was convicted of a felony (for dui) and my moral fiber is just fine. Get a clue out there people, just because a person has a felony on their record does not make them scum...idiots. As far as your question goes this would be a good question to pose to your congressman...

It is those people that harbor resentment of felons that perpetuate the felon's plight.

True common sense is to find out the facts, common nonsense is the guy looking for fiber in his work place.

That is a good question. Look at the creep that just got fired that worked for the government and he was exploiting himself on line to a teenage girl? Most of the crooked ones work in the government. If Peter was the chiefest of sinners and Jesus turned him around...why can't an individual do the same?

From a business stand point, I wouldn't hire a convicted felon. I find that it indicates a general lack of moral fiber. But, hey, that's just common sense.

You offer a question that should be opened up for debate. I'm a former Corrections Officer and see your point. Though there must be some guidlines as to who to hire and not to hire.

Why would they take the chance? I would never hire a convict.
