Long story but i wont bore you with it, just quick summary. I have been trying to get in for a little under 2 years, i have been denied due to a medical condition, which i didnt know i had, i went under treatment for a year and it improved greatly but still not normal. It doesnt hinder my abilities in any way mentally or physically and is not currently progressive.
I have been appealing for over 6 months and its a losing battle. I have submitted doctors notes, and lab reports but they still will not give me the benefit of the doubt. In case you are wondering I am so determined because i absolutely want/need to become Navy SEAL. They are denying me entry into the Navy period not the SEAL program. I really don't know what to do, all my hard work will be in vain if i quit but if i keep going who knows if i will ever get in and it is cutting into my life in ways that are devastating to me, socially, mentally, financially....and i really dont have a basis for a real world career right now

I keep hearing over and over cons complaining about taxes. "don't rais my taxes". "Blame Clinton, he raised taxes". "Read my lips, no new taxes" yeah we get the lies there in.

Any way, if you con jobs are so unpatriotic as to pay your fair share of taxes for public beaches, public school, public roads, public restrooms, public bridges, etc. Then stay off or out of them. Don't go using this patriot's countries schools. Don't go swimming at this patriot's public beach. Don't use this patriot's public restrooms.

Matter of fact if you cons are so unpatriotic to support this country, GO LIVE IN IRAQ. You prefer to allow Bush to funnel tax dollars to Iraq any way. Go join in. I'm sure you will love the great Iraqi dessert and roadside bombs.

Take off and leave the country you choose to neglect. Now who is the TRUE FREE LOADERS?

Enjoy your move to Iraq.

I think it can be a good thing. The cells do not have to be taken from the fetus, you can harvast the same cells in the umbilical cord. I think a lot could be done with Research provided by Stem Cells. It could cure diabetes and other ravaging diseases.

OK i have a friend that was in JROTC and is now being constantly harassed by recruiters. They call my friends house, cell, job, go to his house, and even his job to try and talk to him. He is easily "persuaded" to do things against his will. He has gone to the recruiting office once but has never signed anything. He thought that he would like to join military having no money for school, but luckily he received a grant to continue his education (grant is no way involved with the military). And he would like to know if lying to the recruiter and saying that he can't go to the appointment is illegal or if he could be prosecuted in anyway? He has never signed any papers to my knowledge and would just like the harassment to stop. If you know the answer he would appreciate it and if you have any sources that would also be helpful. He is to fearful to tell the recruiter to leave him alone. Is he obligated by law to go or is it just the recruiters pressure?

~ only men willing to sacrifice themselves for the world can be trusted with the world
~a good government governs "invisibly" and is not meddlesome, like lungs: only when lungs are sick and unnatural does a person notice his breathing
~laws or rules actually mean that a country is not good, because when people are virtuous and in conformity with nature they do not need correction and restraint
~war is tragic, so even when it is necessary it should not be celebrated
~the best leader is a servant, the best master or governor puts himself below others.

anyone with any info for me as a fiancee from boot camp and what to expect to his first station (we plan to wait until at least after boot camp till we get married), when he gets his orders and how long he may be at sea after boot camp and A school would be WONDERFUL... I am trying very hard to be supportive, especially after a difficult week and him potentially wanting to go Navy (which due to my anxiety attacks and a very unprofessional recruiter, we both decided against)

Neocons exist separated into two very distinct groups. The largest, group one, are the people below the 99th income percentile. They are religous and/or war-mongering blowhard lemmings who follow the second group; The second group is made up of the top one percent. They cut taxes for themselves, borrow trillions (second term pending), and their behavior is largely the subject of this blog. Of necessity, they pay Rove to pipe tabloid for the Rats. Lemmings rather. Whichever, they both work.

Libertarians have morality, reality, the laws of economics, and now even momentum on their side (thanks to a certain doctor from Texas who is running for president). They offer the obvious answers to each and every problem that we face. All competing ideological systems have been discredited (70% of America has rejected the Neo-Con argument for aggressive war and the Soviet Union collapsed, fulfilling the predictions of Ludwig von Mises that socialism was doomed to collapse because it cannot perform economic calculation due to not having a price system). When the liberals were supporting the march to war with Iraq and repeating the president's propaganda and talking points, the libertarians were opposed to the war and fighting to keep it from beginning and to end it once it started.

Is it now inevitable that libertarianism will eventually achieve a total victory?

Just in general I was curious.
I pesonally think he stinks, but I respect other opinions.

If you think he is a good president give some reasons, same for those who think he aint so great.

Thanks

If a company has been hiring a lot of people recently and demands to see a social security card and license/state ID for new hires of Mexican descent who have accents, but doesn't make the same demand of people of other races (and just asks them for an SSN and takes their word for it), would that be a discrimination case?

FDR, the democratic president at the time had a lot of criticism from the republicans who really did not want the USA to go fight the fascist nazis and stop their quest for world domination. Anyone know why the republicans took that position? If we had listened to them we would all have swatstikas flying in front of our homes.

Down on the war
Poll: More troops unhappy with Bush’s course in Iraq

By Robert Hodierne
Senior managing editor
The American military — once a staunch supporter of President Bush and the Iraq war — has grown in creasingly pessimistic about chances for victory.

For the first time, more troops disapprove of the president’s han dling of the war than approve of it. Barely one-third of service members approve of the way the president is handling the war, ac cording to the 2006 Military Times Poll.
