Legally, I am not certain. Morally, I would raise he++ if I were there. It is discrimination if you assume some people are undocumented and others are not, based on the color of their skin, but, legally, they should be asking for ID from all applicants.

If a company has been hiring a lot of people recently and demands to see a social security card and license/state ID for new hires of blond headed men who have accents, but doesn't make the same demand of people of other hair colors (and just asks them for an SSN and takes their word for it), would that be a discrimination case?
Does this sound like it might be a discrimination case? A company would be plain stupid to leave them selves open to such a case. This is applicable once they are this specific to any ones race, sex, handicap, religion and what ever else the equal opportunity, discrimination laws now protect us from.

No,
Not as long as the information is verified via phone to the DPS and/or Social Security administration. But there would be a case if the information from each person wasn't verified by the company.
This is the normal application process for any and every person hired. I find it hard to believe that any company would hire anyone without verifying personal information.
I am white and every job I have ever had had the same requirements. I had to show my actual drivers license as well as my social security card.

All employers need to get an I-9 from each employee they hire. A Social Security card and drivers license are two category-A documents.
The Feds are in the process of changing the I-9. Many of the valid types of ID are being eliminated.

Yes, this is discrimination in favor of Hispanics. While any Human Resources department will run SS numbers from applications and verify them, they only need a photocopy of a SS card in the employment file to fulfill the legal requirements for verification and are not required to “make sure” the cards are valid.
This is a way around penalties for hiring illegals. They ALL have driver licenses and SS cards. They buy them from the coyote’s who bring them here!
The answer to your question is yes, that's discrimination but no, the case won't make!!!

A company hiring ANYONE must see a social security number and proof of residency. This is not a discrimination case at all. Every job I've ever had has asked me for my SSN and photographic proof of my identity.

No. It's not discrimination. The profesional company will ask background check, no matter what race. The compay will ask 2 ID (state and passport) and copy Social Security Card.

they have to treat all the same and the must get two forms of id or like a pass port or right to work card. but I don't think it is discrimination because they are required to get that info from all so it would just be a error of omission not discrimination we had a seminar on this it is a ugly area and you don't want to be there an illegal may win a law suit then be deported. don't go there!

No it is not discrimination. The company could get fined for hiring illegals. Is it discrimination that more Mexicans come here illegally than any other immigrant? I think not.

I would think with the state of affairs we live in today it should not be. Employers should have the right to protect themselves against dishonest employees. But I know that all employees are asked for an ID and SS number.

No. It would be impossible for you to prove this. You would have to be there for each and every interview when he hires people...that being said, to prove that he asked for more would be impossible to find out. There are also other factors which come into play when a person hires someone.
It sounds as if you are trying to search for something that isn't there. The fact that the employer is trying to cover his butt is a positive instance that people are actually trying to follow the immigration laws. I applaud them for crossing all "Ts" and dotting all "Is"
