It may sound like a nice idea, but unfortunately, our government does not operate under a parliamentary system. As a republic with stringent rules and regulations, we're stuck with the idiots until the next election cycle. Then again, if we ever did implement such a radical plan, we may end up getting a bit more than what we bargained for.

In theory it is a really good idea.
But since the only thing left in Washington would be lobbyist and only they would truely know how the system works then they would be the governeing party.
Make lobbyist illegal and then it might work.
