Been reading the Tao te Ching???

Perhaps, if we don't blow ourselves up in the mean time, mankind will one day evolve to that point....I believe it is where the Life-Force, Creator, Allah, God, Tao is leading....as we are all part of "IT"--and will all return to "IT".

~ only men willing to sacrifice themselves for the world can be trusted with the world

Agree. In the movie Starship Troopers, only military people were able to vote. That's an interesting concept.

~a good government governs "invisibly" and is not meddlesome, like lungs: only when lungs are sick and unnatural does a person notice his breathing

Agree (although that's a bit of an exaggeration).

~laws or rules actually mean that a country is not good, because when people are virtuous and in conformity with nature they do not need correction and restraint

Technically right but practically meaningless. In the real world, no large group of people are so virtuous that they don't need rules.

~war is tragic, so even when it is necessary it should not be celebrated

Disagree. It's tragic that we sometimes need to go to war. But if we need to go, then it's good that we do. And great if we win.

~the best leader is a servant, the best master or governor puts himself below others.

Agree.

"only men willing to sacrifice themselves for the world can be trusted with the world "
Ok, but what about women? Can they be trusted with the world too? Is it necessary to be even thinking about "sacrificing" yourself? I think the best people to be in any kind of government are the ones who truly and honestly believe in a better world for everyone.

"a good government governs "invisibly" and is not meddlesome, like lungs: only when lungs are sick and unnatural does a person notice his breathing"
I agree that governments should not meddle in every single aspect of our lives but I also believe that there are certain civic responsibilities which need to be government responsibility so that everybody gets the basic human rights and access that they require regardless of the $$$ bottom line.

"laws or rules actually mean that a country is not good, because when people are virtuous and in conformity with nature they do not need correction and restraint"
I believe that without rules and laws a country is "not good". Without rules there is anarchy and there is surely no-one who really believes that it would be possible to have a civilised society without rules and laws.

"war is tragic, so even when it is necessary it should not be celebrated"
This is one that I agree with absolutely and wholeheartedly!

"the best leader is a servant, the best master or governor puts himself below others"
And this is the way things SHOULD be as far as our leaders are concerned and I believe that if we expected this rather than despairingly accept the corruptness and graft that politicians engage in now we might have better governement.

1: Like that Heinlein book where citizenship must be earned. Given a choice between two equal candidates, I would vote for the one who has served.

2: Agreed. While there is a good reason for most government programs, the accumulative effect (and the result of taxation to pay for those programs) results in lowered prosperity, freedom and independance.

3: Disagree. Do traffic rules mean that all drivers are bad drivers? Too many laws and rules are worse than not enough laws or rules, but those laws (and a just justice system) is necessary because in every society there will be some bad eggs. People are never ideal, although in the right environment they can strive for it. Even then rules and laws (such as the Ten Commandments) can provide a guideline to proper behaviour.

4: Agree that war is tragic, but those who defend freedom ought to be celebrated. When courage is no longer applauded, who will find the courage to defend us?

5: Agreed. Wonderful thing about democracy is that it is like a corporation where the President is hired by the board of directors in a vote...all several million of them.

~ only men willing to sacrifice themselves for the world can be trusted with the world

1. True, those who do are those who prove.

~a good government governs "invisibly" and is not meddlesome, like lungs: only when lungs are sick and unnatural does a person notice his breathing

I agree, I believe the government does not have a right to interfere with any aspects of our lives unless you have committed a crime.

~laws or rules actually mean that a country is not good, because when people are virtuous and in conformity with nature they do not need correction and restraint

False, I believe criminals need to be corrected in our prison system and released once proven to be healed.
~war is tragic, so even when it is necessary it should not be celebrated

I agree, deaths shall never be celebrated but grieved.
~the best leader is a servant, the best master or governor puts himself below others.

No, I don't believe that. The best leader is one who can bring everyone together.

I'm with you on all except #3. People are imperfect, and some are naturally inclined not to abide by what the rest of us consider to be moral or virtuous; therefore, a system of laws is necessary to define acceptable behavior and punish deviant behavior, as defined by the whole of society. However, I'll grant that only behaviors that cause harm to others should ideally be regulated as such.

For the most part yes.

All except the laws and rules thing. Laws and rules are set due to the inevitablity that someone is going to do something that hurts others.

There will always be law breakers since it is human nature to follow the path of least resistance.

Criminality is the path of least resistance. It is easier to take what others have earned than earn it for themselves.

In a perfect world, respect for others would be the only law, but the world is not and won't probably ever be perfect.

it looks such as you're purely speaking strictly as a shooter, then particular, Durant is probable a extra helpful shooter. yet suitable now, Kobe is a extra helpful defender and extra shown at scoring while the interest is on the line. Durant has the flair to be extra helpful, yet he's no longer there yet.
