One resident even objected on security grounds, claiming the house could become a terrorist target, while another suggested wheelchairs would present a fire hazard.

I work on the 3rd floor of an office building in a large mail order company. Directly below us is the smoking shelter and when we open a window the smell of smoke is over powering and we are forced to shut the window. Surely if the reason smokers are not allowed to smoke inside is because it is a health hazard then what is the stance on smoke coming in the windows and being subjected to it 35 hours per week at least.

Considering Al Queda's numbers alone , we're in big trouble no matter how you look at it . Considering Radical Islamist's numbers of members , and the percentages of 'sympathisizers'(roughly estimated to be between 20 and 40% of all Muslims) , we may be in a battle that has no end** . And folks , please be smart enough to know that even if we weren't in Iraq , they clearly would be advancing anyways there and elsewhere . Folks , they are active in 80 countries . And they would've likely been active in even more if we weren't forcing them to defend their positions in Iraq . Aside from Iraq , what about the other 79 countries ? We can't fight in 80 countries , not alone anyway . We'd need the whole world or the vast majority of it to join us . And for various reasons , that's never gonna happen . Then add Hezbollah and Hamas , coupled with their state-sponsors Iran and Syria , we are certainly in danger .

That is, when a sniper has to spend days creeping up to where he will eventually be using his rifle, how does he relieve himself (as in use the toilet) when he cannot get up or move in any normal way because it would reveal his position? Does a sniper use diapers or some other technique? Does he fast or change his diet prior to such a mission requiring days of creeping along the ground on his belly? This sort of information never seems to be mentioned in stories about military snipers. Thank you.

... in Congress. We get it that the Dems want to pull out of Iraq. So why are they wasting their time and taxpayer money to debate this issue over and over again, passing non-binding resolutions, and passing bills that they know will be vetoed and they don't have the votes to override?

People complained that the last Congress (Repub controlled) was a do-nothing Congress (and I agree), but so is this one. They're just doing nothing differently.

You can sya well that did not happen in America ,but this would mean you lack a mind able to see the evidence and similarity between the two .The parallels in the U.S. on this point are endless. Obviously, the Bill of Rights and especially the 1st Amendment are the most important element of our Constitution. But, due to the government fear mongering that has occurred since 9/11, security, rather than liberty has become the priority. Countless examples of intimidation, jailing, and outlawing political speech have arisen in the past 3 years. Those who question or oppose government policy are branded as terrorists. Under “Homeland Security,” we are told that we need to find a “balance” between liberty and security. This balance was completely absent from the philosophy of the Founding Fathers. This is one of the most dangerous developments in America today.
