What is it about Republicans that makes dissent treason? Do you doctrinaire zealots not understand that reasoned debate and compromise are what makes democracy work?

During the Viet Nam war we heard the same tired garbage about how the protests gave aid and comfort to the enemy. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. If you want to live in a country where dissent is treason, move to Iran!

In the meantime, learn this: in the USA we have the right to disagree openly with the government, and to oppose the actions we find objectionable.

Quite a problem, isn't it? How can Americans reach a concensus on it if we are not permitted to discuss it?

The neoMcCarthyite behaviour of the Bush Leaguers demonstrates that the GOP has been infected with an attitude that puts politics ahead of the national good. This is why we took away their majorities in the last elections, and why (if they don't start listening) we will put whoever the Democrats nominate into the White House next year.

Yes, just like Bush and his Nazi regime are forcing lies down the throats of the American public. The outright hatred Bush and his cronies have of those who hold a differing opinion or thought concerning Iraq, terrorism etc is astounding. Just goes to show you how high in esteem this administration has for the almighty dollar they are making off the blood, sweat, and tears of the brave troops. Just a thought.

Reid--and others--do care approximately our troops. the assumption is to offer Bush the determination of the two agreeing to a timetable or having the conflict stopped via having investment shrink off. particularly o fleaving our troops in Iraq indefinatelyto die for no longer something--it somewhat is what Bush and hs supporters prefer to do.

there are people in this country that are so against the President they are hoping for our military to be defeated and our country to be hit by more attacks like 9/11 just so they can blame it on Bush.

I think they are trying to stop more useless deaths of Americans but maybe that concept is too much for republicans to absorb.
