Does this not apply to other countries as well? Isn't this one of the main reasons why there are kids running around in Iraq and Afghanistan with bombs strapped to their chests trying to kill American troops? Because THEY do not understand US?This goes both ways. Of course we have our propaganda (i.e. every single news channel). But they too have al-Jazeera, some of their elders telling them how the United States is evil, al-Qeada and the Taliban literally showing them how to kill American Soldiers effectively because they don't deserve to live. Is THIS not a sign of ignorance on there part as well? How do you guys feel about this?

I hear that they are planning on putting cannabis back to a class B drug? which carries a maximum 5 year jail sentance?

in my opinion i feels that this is just stupid as they are complaining about there being no space in jails as it is and are letting people out early for far more dangerous crimes than smoking cannabis?

what are they going to do, let more rapist etc out early to make space for cannabis smokers?
thats just plain stupidity!!!

whats your opinion on this matter?

We are threatening Iran and N.K. on this issue so why is Pakiland any different? They have islamofacists as well and its a dictatorship! seems Dubya has no definitive foreign policy or strategy in place. I fear Pakistan more than Iran cause Iran is at least 5 years away from developing one. Dont forget Israel has appx. 400 armed nukes give or take and sophisticated at that. Iran will never be a threat it could completely annihalate Iran in 30 mins or less.

Elvira Arellano, an immigrant who came to the United States illegally, has taken refuge in a Chicago church in hopes she can avoid deportation and stay in America with her young U.S.-born son.

Immigration officials consider her a fugitive, and say they have the right to arrest her anywhere -- including the church. Lynette Kalsnes of Chicago Public Radio talks with Madeleine Brand about whether the church has the right to "sanctuary" from the law.

I think any church breaking the laws should loss all tax exempt status and be imprisoned!

They should storm the place and arrest everyone involved.

I simply can not understand the warped sense of "entitlement" these people exhibit.

Demand the government do it's job!

Deport this woman! ASAP!

I was watching the movie 'In Pot We Trust'...what is the big deal with legalizing marijuana? I'm certainly not a stoner...but isn't alcohol even worse? They're both mind-altering drugs but you never hear of anyone getting in a car accident as a result of being high. I don't want an arguement...just your thoughts!

This 'notion' blows me away and I shall prove to anyone with intelligence and an open-mind just how completely flawed it is. . . . . . . You Liberals have been trying to convince us Conservatives that your way is better than our way .. . . . and it ain't workin , now is it ? So how would you/Liberals negotiate with us/Conservatives ? Hmmmmm ? Gettin the picture yet ?
We stand on our ideology as you stand on yours . No amount of 'negotiating' is gonna turn a Pro-Lifer into a Pro-Choicer . None !! Or how about convincing us about your immigration ideology ? Hehe , good luck on that one . Is it startin to sink in ?
Now take people who are so filled with hatred that they want to kill us all . So much so that they're willing to kill themselves while killing others . Heck these guys don't even bother with escape plans and such . It's over when it's over and that's that .

How many of you still 'think' that terrorists can be negotiated with ?
Then

PHOENIX — Beginning in January, employers in Arizona could face having their business licenses suspended or revoked if they get caught hiring illegal immigrants.

A new law signed Monday by Gov. Janet Napolitano created the state crime of hiring illegal immigrants and requires all businesses to verify the employment eligibility of workers through a federal database.

A female friend of the famnily was charged with breaking and entering a while back. There was no evidence and the victim never picked her out of a lineup or identified her. Should they file a false arrest suit against the police department being that she did go to jail, had to be bailed out and missed time away from work due to the complete year of the judicial system continuing the case?

WASHINGTON — In every emphatic way, President Bush has declared repeatedly that his immigration bill does not offer amnesty.

And then, on Tuesday, he said it did.

"You know, I've heard all the rhetoric — you've heard it, too — about how this is amnesty," Bush told advocates of his immigration overhaul. "Amnesty means that you've got to pay a price for having been here illegally, and this bill does that."

That's not what Bush meant. Saying that his bill included amnesty was the last thing he meant.

When word started to get out about the gaffe in media reports, the White House scrambled to fix it.

White House press secretary Tony Snow issued an unusual statement to, in essence, correct his boss.

I keep scratching my nuts trying to figure this out. They have no oil, they are a significant burden on our national economy amounting to 1 Trillion USD since the 1970's, our major oil suppliers i.e. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and othe GCC countries have no relations with them so...why do we have such unwavering support for these people?

WASHINGTON — The Home Depot is tired of being forced by local governments to accommodate the day laborers who turn up in its store parking lots seeking construction work. So the Georgia-based company turned to Congress for help.

The Senate could respond this week by attaching language to the immigration bill that would prohibit city councils from requiring home improvement stores to pay for shelters or other services to help maintain orderly day labor sites.

"Even the highest morale is eventually undermined by back-to-back deployments ... by shortages of spare parts and equipment, and by rapidly declining readiness."

"We will not be permanent peacekeepers, dividing warring parties. This is not our strength or our calling."

Was it John Kerry?

John Edwards?

Barack Obama?

NO. Here's a clue: It's the same guy who said we should have a "humble foreign policy" that didn't "tell other nations how to run their affairs", and who eschewed "Nation Building".

Give up?

It was GEORGE W. BUSH! Part of his 2000 campaign. The first quotes were from a speech he gave at the Citadel in 1999.

So, Bush worshippers, was he lying or badly misguided? Pick one!

Group Reports 1996 Immigration Law Separated 1.6 Million from Families

WASHINGTON — An estimated 1.6 million children and spouses have been separated from family members forced to leave the country under toughened 1996 immigration laws, a human rights group said Wednesday.

I think it is all the fault of the criminals that broke all these laws, the headlines should read

"illegal immigrants and their lawless actions lead to deportation and separates them from their families."

Britain had always made clear the decision to expel four Russian diplomats announced this week was because Moscow had refused to extradite the man suspected of killing Litvinenko, a British citizen.

Moscow and London are engaged in a furious diplomatic row over Russia's refusal to hand over the man, Andrei Lugovoy, who is suspected of poisoning Litvinenko with the rare radioactive isotope polonium 210 in London last year.

However, Boris Berezovsky, is being tried in absentia in Moscow for theft because Britain has refused to extradite him to Russia to face trial. Boris Berezovsky, is one of the Russians who stole billions from Russia when Yeltsin was in power.

Britain was the first to refuse to extradite the Russian, now it screams and shouts at Russia. One law for us and one law for them!!!!

From time time we hear that the #2 guy has been captured...then the story falls out of the 'news'. Now we hear that the #1 has been captured. Does anyone actually believe this #$% will make a difference? The resistance in Iraq has dozens of factions..when one fails two more pop up to take its place. At this rate we'll be in Iraq until everything above ground there is blown into #$% and air and all of the people are dead, crippled or living in Miami!

She actually wants a contingent of troops (of an unknown number) to remain in order to fight terrorists and provide a quick-strike capability. She has also said that this will prevent Iran from having a free hand in Iraq should we leave altogether.

It pains me to say this, but I agree with her in all but one regard. I don't think there should be any draw down. That being said, she seems to be "tuned-in" to the realities of the war and the region.

Obviously, she is moving towards the center on this issue for political and practical reasons. Does her position put her at odds with far-left Liberals and Democrats? Is she trying to have her cake and eat it, too? Do you support her stance or do you think we should pull out completely?
