I am a US citizen, and my English is fluent, but it is not my native tongue an when I am tired, my foreign accent comes out. It is actually quite slight, but still audible.
Often, when I would apply for jobs over the phone, I would notice the interviewer would become tense and ask me the " Where are you from originally?" question. When I would answer, there would be a mood of grave concern on the other end and they would never call me back. Mostly business jobs and all.
I also got called a "foreigner" on one job and told to "get out".
Once I was applying for a job as a teacher and the school asked me to fill out an application form. They had a "Place of Birth" box" which is illegal". I brought it to their attention and they said that the parents in the school were mainly Chinese and they would ask "where the teacher is from" before allowing that person teach their kids. What are legal recourses for foreign-born US citizens to combat such discrimination?

True story.
Rodham-Clinton was a:
Nixon campaigner
vote-fraud investigator in 1960
to Goldwater Girl and President of Young Republicans at Wellesley
internship for Gerald Ford
campaigner for Nelson Rockefeller.
Her reaction to the student protests at Yale and the demonstrations at Grant Park during the Democratic Convention in 1968?
How she and Bill vowed to 'remake' the Democrat party?

All very true. http://www.counterpunch.org/
Why does she sweep these embarrassing facts under the mat today?

Russia buy oil from Iran - in fact there is a pipeline from one nation to the other

Russia has sold a billion dollars in arms and defence to Iran

Iran has had problem paying for all of this -

If the US starts a war or destabizes Iran - the oil and the money for the defence contracts might stop or flow in at a trickle

The US has upset Russia with plans to put missles on it's doorstep -

The US would like to go after Iran -

Has Iran just become monkey in the middle ?

mine used to be the no-spin-zone w/ Bill O'Reilley, but lately i'd have to say Michael Savage. because he's 100% straight-forward in his opinions. he's (in no small way) responsible for getting the am. ppl to stop that nightmare Dubai Ports deal, and w/other hosts stopping that travesty-amnesty bill from going forward. not only his views of politics, but he has a real genuinely kind side in his affinity for animals and nature. just MHO. so.. who do you like?

There seems to be an all-out push for this nonsense lately. Michael Moore's latest propaganda is focused entirely on this objective. This Universal Healthcare push is festering like a swollen boil in politics today, and it is threatening to burst and ooze a fetid puss all over the 2008 presidential election.

It is not very difficult to envision a US government-administered system of socialist medicine: health care with the efficiency of the Postal Service and the compassion of the IRS? No thanks!

Didn't they learn their lesson the first time Hillary tried that rubbish in 1993? She got smacked down, hard. Socialist healthcare is not something that the American people are prepared to tolerate; do you hear us, leftwingers? Not on OUR watch!

The shame of it all is that: trial lawyers like John Edwards and his ilk are responsible for most of the problems plaguing our current health system. Any common-sense attempts at tort-reform is met with furious resistance by the Left.
