Your reputation is how you are known , it is the you according to what you have done in your life good or bad. Ex: if you lie all the time you will have the reputation of being a liar that no one can trust, if you can keep a trust that friends have placed in your care then you will be known to be someone who can be trustworthy, etc. I do not think a dollar amount can be placed on a persons reputation but I am equally sure that a good lawyer and a jury of peers would find an amount and it would be quite high and deservedly so.

Reputation is not like a 'Brand, which can be valued in dollar terms.Once shown in negative terms on a national media, your 'goose is cooked' for a short to medium term.Have you seen the denials to a front page 'Slander' appearing in short prints on some inner pages of a news paper and to what effect? How ever,if you know as how to exploit the power of the media in such a situation to your favor after denial ,you can manage to go up a couple of notches on your popularity chart like converting an adversity in to an opportunity.Very few know how to do it.

In the words of Joan Jett "dont give a damn". How ever if someone was defaming my character to get something and it was a lie, i would probably say something. It wouldnt be worth too much though. But just in general people thinking poorly of me, they're gonna believe what they want, so let em.

You can put a dollar amount on that if it costs you your career. That is the only way I can see it being worth any money at all.

Maybe the Duke guys could use that argument to sue their accuser. And that Nancy Grace chick.
Man, she'd probably get sued right off of TV. (Score!)
