1) Americans tend to re-elect presidents (barring a massive recession, a major third party candidate or a huge scandal a US president will generally win a second term.)
2) John Kerry, the Democratic Candidate, ran a lousy campaign.
3) Much of the public did not turn against the war in Iraq until after the election.

Fear. Before the election there were terror alerts daily. Funny how they've stopped right after the election.
Pat Tillman.....made into a hero. Bush needed a murdered hero to rial up the crowd. Then we found out he was killed by friendly fire?
It was the American way to vote for the war president.
Whinny sheep need a leader.

That is what Billions of people have been asking world wide. It is because there are too many Americans that pick a party and become life long advocates. Every American should not be affiliated with a party, but vote for the government that best reflects their wishes.

Most americans rely on Fox news for their information about the *ahem* world around them. Luckily for Bush Fox is a far-right broadcaster controlled by conservative 'christian' (believes in jesus but acts nothing like him) republicans. Fox news managed to totally distort the image of Kerry, making him look weak, arrogant and pompous, they married this man, who fought for his country in vietnam and recieved the purple heart award to the terms 'coward' and 'flip-flopper'. It was extremely immoral, but also extremely ingenious that they could make Bush, a sniveling little man who actively avoided fighting for his country (but is very happy to send others along to do so in his stead) seem like the 'tough guy' america needed in the war on terror. Even now it is amazing how much we know concerning how much Bush and his administration lied, not just too the american people but to the international community to improve his and his buddies private wealth and yet there is no demand by Fox for his impeachment, and yet they were practically frothing at the mouth when they found out Clinton (who made some of the most promising steps towards forging peace in both Israel and Ireland) lied about what was nobodies business anyway.

because people do not change Presidents during wars, no matter how bad they are, unless term limits make them.
Didn't help, that Kerry waited until a couple months prior to election time to start acting serious about the campaign, as if he was wanting Bush to win.

Fear - we don't like to change leaders during a crisis, and the "war on terrorism" is considered a crisis. However, he was elected by a razor thin margin - almost half the country voted AGAINST him, and now more than half wishes they did too!

Americans who voted for him had the realization that they had no choice on this issue and they had their own reasons, justified or otherwise.. Another reason is the typical American trait meaning that if you created a 'MESS',you had damn well 'Clear' it.No body need be surprised if Americans give him a third term as well but law doesn't permit it.
