For minor infractions, wouldn't this be a lot more efficient, less burdensome on the taxpayers? Just get it over with and let everyone get on with their life. What do you think?

I mean relatively minor infractions for which you're currently sentenced to Jail.

Not for traffic violations, etc.

YES....a good "ol fashioned but whipping" would work on a lot of the troublesome youth's...it would reinstate the respect and fear of authorities that is needed to cope in in the world we now live in....Food for thought if you bring back "PROPER DISCIPLINE" back into the schools, and teach children the proper respect, and how to communicate with older and people in authority, at a younger age, you would notice a dramatic change in our American culture.....................

Go ahead start busting my chops here :!!!!
i can here all the single parents out there already saying "Ain't nobody gonna lay a finger on my kid"..."if they do i will sue"....or "i will go down there and take care of business my self !!"...........say what you want or think what you want but the truth is the truth..........and nothing is going to change until we allow it to change !!!!!

Public whipping for *minor* infractions?

How many lashes if you park near a fire hydrant?

How many if you're caught doing 60mph in a 50mph zone?

BTW, what was the last thing you did, that you wish you had been tied to a post for?

But where would the city get their money if they weren't issuing traffic & parking tickets?

This is America. There is a fee for everything.

Sounds like a 3rd world punishment and it that is your personal belief, perhaps you should move to a 3rd world country.

Go...the free world will not miss you or even give you a second thought.
