"And second of all, I guess I would ask which human beings — where and when — are to be accorded the privilege of deciding that this particular climate that we have right here today, right now is the best climate for all other human beings. I think that's a rather arrogant position for people to take."

As more and more prominent scientist are questioning the "consensus", when will liberals start to question their own witch hunts?

Most representatives and businessmen in other industrialized nations are already fluent in their native languages and English. Because of this among other things, the US is losing its competitive advantage with other nations. Fluency in two or more languages is always better than fluency in one.

There are other benefits as well, aside from the business competition aspects. For instance, US security would be better served, as we would have a far greater pool of linguists from which to draw in filling the ranks of our military specialists.

So shouldn't we make foreign language proficiency a requirement for high school graduation, or at least college entry?

And to the "waahh what about those kids who aren't interested or can't cut it" people, I say tough. For those kids we set up trade schools to teach them a trade, or let them drop out and take their lumps.

We start taking back our competitive advantage by getting tough where it starts, in the education trenches.

They love immoral divorcees like Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, Fred Thompson, John McCain and Rudy Guiliani. Jesus admonished those sinners for divorcing, yet conservatives back those guys anyway.

It has to be done in a Nationally organized fashion by armed militia's! I have NOT seen or heard of such a campaign but there should be. The legal citizen Majority should have ultimate Rule & control or final say over Government & business hence they serve us properly or cease to exist! Which calls for ending Representative government! Now for those who think we must have government Fine but strickly as well managed "at will" employee's NOT anything like what exist NOW!

With the increase in our loss of civil liberties and the government constently expanding, when will the breaking point be reached, when the people of this land stand up and say I'm tired of decisions being made without my knowledge. Congressmen and women abuse their power with no regrets and no loyalty to the people that put them there. They lie, cheat, steal and do it with a smile on their face.

I do understand that there is and always will be discrimination, BUT not everything is.

If someone is not doing their job right and gets fired. Thats why. If someone acts like a mororn and gets banned from being somewhere, thats why. It is not always because of race, gender, age, etc. etc, but people seem to crying discrimination everytime something does not go their way.

As im led to belive American people, are not told about natures fruits by their own government and thus are under the impression that greens are bad.
i think Americans must be told the truth.

President Bush has already claimed, in a number of public speeches, that we have broken up terrorist plots to attack U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. By claiming this, Bush renders his own "follow us home" argument null and void. If attacks have already been planned and broken up, the terrorists are obviously already trying to attack us here while our troops are still in Iraq. How can Bush claim, with a straight face, that a consequence of leaving Iraq will be that terrorists will "follow us home" to attack us on our own soil when, with his own words and while our troops are still in Iraq, he has told us that they are already trying to attack us on our own soil?

Like a lot of folks in this country I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check since I have to pass one to earn itfor them??

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their @ss!

Could you imagine how much money the state/country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

According to an AP story on Yahoo, we want to negotiate a cease-fire agreement in Iraq:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070531/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_iraq

"Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno said commanders at all levels are being empowered to reach out for talks with militants, tribes, religious leaders and others in the country that has been gripped by violence on a range of fronts including insurgents, sectarian rivals and common criminals."

But... But aren't some of those "militants" the very same people (such as that pig Al Sadr) who are causing the violence?

Many women have abortions because they can't afford to miss work while pregnant. If these women were given more financial assistance, many abortions would be avoided & more childless couples would be able to adopt a child.

So whether you're pro-choice or pro-life, helping these women would seem to be the most effective way to prevent abortions and also a good way to give women more choice.

I think most pro-choice people dislike abortions, they just aren't willing to physically and legally coerce women in order to prevent abortions.

If you're pro-life, all your political efforts are unlikely to ever save a single baby. But, by helping pregnant women, you personally can save many babies.

I wanted the tires from last Fall put on my vehicle to replace the snow tires. I was informed the $135 Michelins were too worn,2/32. It was obvious to me that they were fine and I disputed their claim of "DANGEROUS". (Later measure showed 4/32+, almost 1/2 of original tread). I called for a mgr and got an asst. who after discussion concurred with tire associates. I accused them as using a "schlocky" business practice. I asked mgr. last name as his tag only said JUAN. He declined and I said Juan Valdez and as I was angry, tacked on for his edification, why doesn't he go pick some coffee beans. I then paid for oil change and left. Later I returned with knowledge that tread wear indicators are built in at 2/32 and my tires obviously had a lot left. Suddenly, the store mgr. arrived and after listening to my complaint advised that I was banned for life from all Walmart stores. The fact that a foolish comment was made became an ethnic insult and the tire fraud and deception moot.

Understand that I'm a Die-hard Conservative. But it came to me the other day that one possible reason for all of the mixed signals lately from the White House is this; Perhaps GWB and his advisors are going soft on Immigration and other topics in order to re-charge the conservative base? So he sides with Teddy the Hutt on Immigration, the conservative base screams bloody murder, and lo and behold, in comes a candidate, who is for strict emforcement of our borders, and completely locks up the Presidency for true conservatives.

It's just a gut feeling I've had about some of the choices coming out of the White House.

Discuss. Thanks.

OK, for the sake of argument let's say that FOX News is a Conservative-leaning News station, and every other news station is completely unbiased. Therefore, to a Democrat standpoint, FOX News does NOT cater to the audience who will be voting on them, correct?

So, participating in a debate on FOX News would be somewhat akin to debating with the enemy. So, why not use this as a training ground? If the ONLY reason they are not debating on FOX News is that it is right-leaning, do they think that, when they have to negotiate with a murderous dictator as President, he will not try to spin the issue his way? Do they think the whole world will ask them the "proper" questions?

And if the whole thing is really about that guys insult about Obama: Do they think our enemies around the globe will never insult whomever gets elected? Don’t they understand that, as President, they have to stand up to MUCH heavier criticism than this?

The ONLY reason that I can see them not wanting to debate on FOX News is that it will expose their lack of depth. If they stood strong on issues, ANYONE should be able to ask them a tough question and they should be able to answer it. At least that’s the President I want.

I want a President who can go on a debate sponsored by Al Jazeera and STILL stand firm on the issues.

Agreed?
