Because a great deal of effort is expended in trying to make thier crime acceptable. Without the extraordinary efforts of both political parties, numerous race-based groups, the governments of Mexico and other countries that export people here, cheap-labor-hungry big business, and a variety of other special interest, there would be no controversy.
Even with all the artificially-generated 'controversey' the majority of Americans oppose illegal immigration.

Because they are here ILLEGALLY. They suck money out of this country in the form of wages, free healthcare and welfare. They won't assimilate. And just today in the city I live, a vanload of 6 illegals killed a pedestrian. They are stealing jobs and comitting crimes.

BUT who has sat there while they were answering this question and actualy thought about the history of those state close to the border of Mexico?..I bet no one.. THIS LAND BELONG TO THEM!!!! and the americans took it from them as in they stoled land..there for they are the Immigrants! and they are the ones that should go to jail and should not be in a land that does not belong to them in the first place! Did you know that 60% who use welfare and take our taxes are White? and does everything think of a mexican when they hear the word Immigrant... let me just say that they are alot of asians, belize, africans, phillipin, korean, salvadorians, guatemalan,, ETC> just name it they are immigrants as well.

What don't you understand? THEY ARE ILLEGAL! They do not belong here, period. If you do something illegal, you will go to jail, period. Most of the people I talk to, don't want them here. NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS!
