I watch and read the news all the time, many different sources and I see the same thing. The liberals are against tax relief for the rich and they want the rich to pay more taxes and the poor to get more relief. Some of the poor even go as far as to blame the rich for their situation.

Consider this though! The majority of business are owned by the rich (of course right, nothing new there, otherwise they wouldn't be in business), thus creating jobs. If you reduce their profit margin, they cut jobs to make up for that. It is the rich that create the job market. I absolutely do not understand why so many people want to attach the very foundation that creates jobs in this country. Penalizing the rich only hurts the poor, it doesn't help them at all.

When Bush ran in 2000 he campaigned as being a uniter. Since then our country has become even more divided. Instead of respecting the oposing point of view, it is now a "Your either with me or against me" society, regardless of where you stand on an issue. What happened?

Is this not the greatest? Now they're parroting each other by calling Fred Thompson a corporate lobbyist. Goodness, can't they find anything better than that?

LOL!

A common argument for abortion is "A fetus is not a baby"....so when you know someone who is prego, and has a miscarriage in the first two or three months do you say "they lost the baby" or "they no longer have the group of cells in there that might be a baby" or is only a baby when you don't want to kill it?

well this co-worker on mine said that there is a law in California stating that an 18-20 year old person CAN drink alcohol but they have to be under their parent/legal guardian supervision AND at their house. I never heard of anything like this, sounds more like a myth or maybe a law elsewhere. Can anyone help??

Read the story yourself . Al Queda has finally totally pis$ed-off the Iraqis . Their ticked and fighting back now . Is this the beginning of what we've all been waiting and hoping for ? I'll let you read the story , but Al Queda was randomly shooting into the streets and students couldn't even go take their final exams . Reports are not complete yet , but one Iraqi official said the U.S. had caught 45 Al Queda members in this battle . And don't forget , we freed 42 Iraqis held by Al Queda last week !!
Oh , and our allies , the Brits killed Al Sadr's Top Military Commander last week too !!

Gore and other liberals are pushing to eliminate private choice in telecommunications by instituting the "fairness doctrine" thought the FCC. Under this doctrine, the government would regulate content of broadcasting stations to make sure they were politically "balanced" between left and right. Of course, the obvious problem with that is that the government decides what constitutes "balanced" broadcasting.

Isn't that what Chavez is doing in Venezuela? Is he the model for liberal thought in this country when it comes to interpreting the First Amendment?

We've been aborting 1.2 million babies a year in this country since 1973. That's quite a drain on citizens. Now we need bodies to pay the Social Security taxes for the baby boom generation, they start retiring. We don't have enough bodies to do it. And, of course, Washington is not going to reform entitlements. Too big a risk. So just get these bodies in. The dirty little secret is that they're going to be a net drain on Social Security because while they may be contributing Social Security taxes, to help defray some of the Social Security of other baby boomers they're going to have to also receive their own transfer payments because they're not going to have access to health care, not going to have enough money for kids to go to school, this sort of thing. It's easier to import the bodies here than to take on the serious task of reforming these problems, which, by the way, is not going to be solved by these people coming in. If it even works, it's a temporary fix.

But the second reason -- it's very close. The Democrats, by the same token, don't discount the fact that this to them is a golden opportunity to expand the welfare system. the point is that what is at stake here is the Democrats see a golden opportunity to create a whole new subculture of dependents that are going to vote for them forever. The Democrats, the liberals in this country resent conservatism and its success and its power, they want to take on the traditions and institutions that have made this country great, tear it down and rebuild the country in the liberals' own image, which is a giant governor government, whole lots of victims, people dependent, can't get by on their own. That's nirvana for liberals, and that's part and parcel of this whole thing.

To pay for welfare so that poor people don't have to work and can sit around all day doing drugs and drinking? I am, raising taxes is the only way to go. We need to pay for all these lazy people and not for the soldiers in Iraq, they can do without because they are only killing other people anyway. Who agrees with me?

to win custody of his kids? Look at my other questions for proof. Legally the courts must make their decision based on the best interest of the child and mom should not win by default becasue she has a vagina.
My question is: What are your reasons for beleiveing that a man must prove a woman unfit in order to win custody? Why is it not that a woman must prove a man unfit? I see no other reason for this line of thinking except that it is blatant sexist discrimination.
And don't tell me it is because mom's are better care givers. A man can do what ever a woman can, and vice versa.
