Call your local police department and see if they have a victim advocacy group that you can speak with.

Otherwise, find a good PTSD therapist and have them help you work through this.

You are having a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. Get some help. Don't let it consume your life.

Depending on what state you live in you should have gotten a victims Rights Worksheet. The cop will take your information and you will be appraised of the case as it progresses through the system and advised when he is eventually released.

I hope you do get over it. It is not easy to deal with having to confront someone with a gun. I hope he rots for a long time.

Why you? Because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sorry about that. It was in NO way your fault.

If you are still having issues dealing with it, you could have a case of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is very common when someone has been robbed or assaulted. Have you thought about talking to your doctor about it? You can get help and not be scared anymore. Good luck!

I think everyone is missing your point/you didn't state your concern clearly. He had your license: he has your address!!!! That would scare me too. I would call the court house and see how long he was put in jail and when he'll be released....hopefully he is still there. And then ask them the same question, re: your fear of him knowing where you live. If he's that violent and was armed, I would consider moving. Good luck and be safe!

That sounds terrible. I am glad that you're alright! I would have called the police as soon as this happened though! What if the guy came to your house in this month before you called them?

Random crime can happen to anyone. Always be aware of your surroundings, but you cannot live freely and totally avoid the scumbags out there. If you're inclined, buy a gun, learn how to use it, and carry it.

If you are still scared the man is going to find you and hurt you, see if you can get a restraining order.

I'm glad you were not hurt. you didn't do anything wrong. call your local police station and see if they have a victim's assistance program, or see if they have any pamphlets that have your rights as a victim.
