To beat the Republicans to it............
C"mon, there's no real difference betwixt the two parties. They conduct a faux rivalry as a smoke screen to conceal from us that they both have the same objective- to fleece the herd to the max.
We need to dump the Republicratic 2-party system and upset the status quo by voting out all incumbents and replacing them with independents. Washington. D.C. needs a wakeup call. They no longer listen to us.....................

You stated there are hundreds of uncomplicated the type to repair the midsection classification, nicely i'm sorry, with all your training your answer does not relatively ring lots distinctive than our present day coverage with a buzz. or maybe although you sound relatively left, to me it relatively does not rely which ideological bend you're, schemes are what the citizen has been contending with for some years. we are able to return to solid midsection classification via a truthful tax equipment, pushing the ego pushed occupation minded federal voters out the door and letting our new representatives (Federal point) artwork on our financial and worldwide matters and stay the heck faraway from social problems that must be dealt with via the state rather of arising them a political punching bag. so a techniques as restoring the midsection classification to an identical situation (length) by using fact the 60's, i'm exceedingly particular that basically can not take place, to no longer point out; i'm to undecided on those archives until you're asking this interior the "what if" concept. having stated that i must be incorrect.... positive question!

First of all, it is a proposed budget that tries to balance the budget instead of running budget deficits. The bill has not become law yet, it still has to be signed by the president. In order to balance the budget, you have to do a combination of three things: increase taxes, decrease spending, or borrow more money.
As of May 29, 2007, our national debt is at $8,818,400,511,284.62. 52% of the debt is held by the government. $4 trillion is in public hands. The biggest chuck is held by foreign governments: Japan tops the list (with $644 billion), followed by China ($350 billion), United Kingdom ($239 billion) and oil exporting countries ($100 billion).
The $2.9 trillion fiscal 2008 budget that funds President George W. Bush's huge defense buildup while also adding money for Democrats' domestic priorities: mostly veterans, poor children and education. Included in the measure is a 10.5 percent increase in the regular Pentagon budget and full war funding that Bush requested for combat in Iraq and Afghanistan next year.
Since George Bush was inaugurated on January 20, 2001, our national debt stood at $5,727,776,738,304.64. As of May 29, 2007, our national debt is at $8,818,400,511,284.62. Do the math and Bush has added $3,090,623,772,979.98 or 35% of the national debt or a 54% increase since he took office. Those are some BIG numbers considering he has been in office only 6 years for the 231 years of this nation.
I do not like paying taxes, but also do not want to pass on the burden to future generations. I do not also like having China and oil exporting countries earning interest on our national debt. In Fiscal Year 2006, the U. S. Government spent $406 Billion (~15% of the total budget) of your money on interest payments to the holders of the National Debt.
The proposed budget is a return to what is called "fiscal responsibility".

Because they believe (mistakenly) that higher taxes will lead to increased revenue, when it has already been shown that lowering taxes stimulates the economy, leading to increased revenues (look at the increased revenues to the Treasury as a result of the Bush tax cuts). Additionally, they are enamored with class warfare and want to increase taxes on the rich. Unfortunately, when they increase taxes on the rich, many middle class and even lower class people get caught up in these increases. All of this is in the name of funding entitlements, which is their hold on power--when people become dependent on entitlements, they vote for whoever promises to keep them going.

I didn't know they did. But if they did it's probably to start paying down the humongous budget that the Republicans have caused us all to incur!
BTW: It could also be that they are trying to put money back into the systems that are being over run by the illegal immigrants, since it's such a huge drain on our systems.

They haven't, Mr. Limbaugh...they will repeal Bush's tax cuts in 2010. I admire them for making tough choices, as our country has some big problems to solve, and the bury your head in the sand approach is not working.

I see by your reference that you might be having a pipe dream. Even if true it may be to pay for the debt Bush has run up to pay for his little war. The money has to come from somewhere.
