"And second of all, I guess I would ask which human beings — where and when — are to be accorded the privilege of deciding that this particular climate that we have right here today, right now is the best climate for all other human beings. I think that's a rather arrogant position for people to take."

i think of the present situation with worldwide warming is greater political than cyclical, and governments - by their regulations - gets bigger taxes and could rigidity some uncooperative agencies out of company. We did have an ice age in the classic previous, then the biblical flood, so this cycle could have repeated many circumstances earlier Mr. Gore misplaced his election and grew to grow to be proponent for this situation. many of the scientific info became into exaggerated. there are a number of factors that could reason cyclical climate variations - as I remember from my geology training, our tectonic plates continuously flow, subsequently could have been at diverse positions centuries in the past, the two closer to the equator or the poles. Plus the Earth's orbit around the solar is odd, and so on. yet why do not we basically plant greater wood and vegetation particularly of fixing grass with man made turf and scaling down wood? as quickly as I heard final twelve months that one @#!@# scientist reported that we deliver steel airborne dirt and dust into Earth's environment to mirror the solar away, i could not have faith the stupidity. perhaps we will basically deliver our flesh pressers - alongside with some pseudo scientists - on the 1st manned holiday Mars and our climate gets general returned... :)

I don't know, unless he's a Bush appointee.

He seems to think that the deaths of hundreds of millions who live on coasts may be a good thing, the deaths of millions more due to spread of tropical diseases is grand, and the loss of diversity of life due to the extinction of millions of species may just be good news all around.

I have no idea why he says that; but notice that he's not disputing either the fact of global warming, or that we're causing itl, as many of the answers you're getting miss.

Not having the full context of the remarks, I don't know whether he was setting up a poor argument to subsequently knock down.

Whatever his reasons, the quote is completely insane.

Here, for your reading pleasure, is a link to a page on myths about global warming myths, with links to each specific myth, and explanations as to why they are myths.

NASA's website has plenty of information about the effects of global warming. The question is- How soon will it effect the earth.
Our generation will not feel the effects and maybe the one after us, but the future of all living things is at stake and the past and present generations are to blame. Why not do something now? Stop deforestation and cut CO2 emissions, what's wrong with that?

You mean liberals like Newt Gingrich, who agreed at a debate with John Kerry that we need to do something about global warming.

Do me a favor: 1. lock yourself inside your house - close all the windows. 2. idle your car in your living room 3. go take a nice relaxing nap on the couch.

Fox news is actually an eminently qualified source. Far better than say, CNN. or the BBC.

As for the NASA scientist, clearly this gentleman falls into the "realist" camp. This ongoing debate, known as the science wars, is the result of the conflicting values and assumptions held by the postmodernist and realist camps. Whereas postmodernists assert that scientific knowledge is simply another discourse and not representative of any form of fundamental truth, realists in the scientific community maintain that scientific knowledge does reveal real and fundamental truths about reality.

Leftwingers believe that modern science should forward a "progressive" agenda. Neutral or conservative scientists, "realists", believe in facts and objectivity.

He is not the only one. Many of us are still wanting more information. Most agree global warming is taking place, just not sure yet if man-made contribution is major factor.

I think we need to get off fossil fuels for a couple of very good reasons without even considering globalwarming - It does pollute and most oil is under Islamic countries where many Radical Islamics live.

Presumably one of Bush's stormtroopers was holding a gun on him at a the time, right?

The quote was from NPR, and it's been picked up lots of places besides FOXnews.

Uh, he's not disputing Global Warming, all he's saying is that maybe it's not as bad a thing as people say. Global Warming is happening, the real question revolves around whether it is mostly our fault or just another of earth's cycles.
