I wanted the tires from last Fall put on my vehicle to replace the snow tires. I was informed the $135 Michelins were too worn,2/32. It was obvious to me that they were fine and I disputed their claim of "DANGEROUS". (Later measure showed 4/32+, almost 1/2 of original tread). I called for a mgr and got an asst. who after discussion concurred with tire associates. I accused them as using a "schlocky" business practice. I asked mgr. last name as his tag only said JUAN. He declined and I said Juan Valdez and as I was angry, tacked on for his edification, why doesn't he go pick some coffee beans. I then paid for oil change and left. Later I returned with knowledge that tread wear indicators are built in at 2/32 and my tires obviously had a lot left. Suddenly, the store mgr. arrived and after listening to my complaint advised that I was banned for life from all Walmart stores. The fact that a foolish comment was made became an ethnic insult and the tire fraud and deception moot.

Many stores retain the right to ban patrons for any reason. It must be posted. However, it is highly unlikely that they will know when you step into another store. I do hope you realize that your approach was not the best one and have learned a bit of a lesson.

Oh please, Juan Valdez (Capt Coffee Bean and his pet burro) cannot ban you from Wally World. Good grief, he'll be deported before you even have cause to go there again.

Unless of course you were in a MEXICAN WalMart and then the beanos will boo you for being American. Frankly, if I were truly BANNED from WalMart I wouldn't be insulted. Hell, I have to present my passport just to get into the music department at the one near me. Freakin Neal Diamond CDs are re-done in Mexican. I'd say no loss. And gees, have you seen the bald a$$ tires they drive around on? 16 Mexicans in a 1980 F100 with 4 unmatched baldies. That's just how many are in the cab. There's 5 more under the age of 12 in the bed with a bunch of turnips.

Your comment may have been offensive to some, but the last time I checked, we were still a free republic. And as such, our right to speak freely, even if ignorantly, is protected. ANd just think, we're going to let 14 million of 'em come who came illegally stay. Well, someone does need to pick the strawberries . . . we Americans are pretty slow. You'd have thought we would've learned from the cotton.

Since WalMart isn't a governmental institution, they're free to abrogate your First Amendment rights (those rights only protect us from government action). They're also allowed to blacklist you.

I mean, I know it was a dumb comment but it sounds fair to me. I wouldn't want to patronize a store where the management let customers use ethnic slurs to demean employees. I wouldn't feel like those manages would have the backbone to take my business seriously.

Also, my tread wear indicators were supposed to show at 2/32, but never do. If you're at 4/32 then it's time to change. The first 1/2 of the tread takes MUCH longer to go than the second 1/2.

Well, first of all....I think you over reacted badly. You lost your cool and vented out on an "innocent" person....then you continued to guess his last name to be Vasquez, which is a common Mexican last name, and then to add insult to injury...you told him to go and pick some coffee beans? Now tell me what did you get out of discriminating an innocent person? Did it make your tires better? Did it make you fell better of yourself? Did it boost your ego? Let me tell you something.....talking to anyone like that will get you into a lot of trouble.....you're lucky someone didn't kick your a s s! That was just plain rude, disrespectful, and childish on your behalf. I think Walmart did the right thing by banning you from their stores. You should be ashamed of yourself. Who do you think you are? I take great offense to this because I'm a Mexican American and I can't imagine someone speaking to me that way. So yeah, I'm offended that someone can make such a comment. How would you like it if someone made an ethnic insult to your Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Son, Daughter? How would you feel? That comment was uncalled for and is in fact dehumanizing.......the one dehumanized in this situation is person making those kinds of comments.....YOU!

you were possibly right about the tires but nevertheless you should have never gone as far so as to insult the walmart employee. Making racial and insulting comments can not be described merely by the word foolish.
Since you had no hesitation whatsoever to act in such a way i suggest that you stop complaining and just accept the consequences of your actions.
may i ask why a person with the name juan gives you the impression that he should be picking up coffee beans would you say the same if his name was john????

You handled the situation very poorly. 2/32" is the bare legal minimum. Many, if not most, tire place will actually start recommending replacement at 4/32". You, as a owner, can refuse it, and you did.

There was no reason to argue with them when you were just advised that they "recommend" you change the tires.

Your comment about coffee beans were entirely out of place. I agree with their decision to ban you from the store, although, how they plan to enforce it, I have no idea.

They may have made a mistake about your tires, but your comment was uncalled for and incredibly offensive. If someone used a slur like that to describe you just because you made a mistake, they would be upset as well. I would have complained if you had said something like that to me.

I know that when you get angry, it is easy to say things like that to vent the frustration. However, even though they made a mistake and you might have been able to do something about it by getting outside information and bringing it to them later, by using an ethnic slur you gave them good reason to ban you from the building. If you had kept your cool and held that comment in, they would not have such a reason.

Walmart is a private business on private property, and they have every legal right to ask you to leave for any reason. You gave them a good reason and they used it. I suggest you do your best to hold your tongue next time.

I think you r human and people say things when they r angry. perhaps next time take another approach. these days you need not use racial slurs it's so last century. but being banned from walmart is not such a bad thing far as i'm concerned. It's there loss. you should have told them u won't ever shop there again. and now the whole world knows of there shady antics. shop at k-mart, or sears. sometimes i think they make up **** at walmart cause the employees r too stupid and lazy to help your properly. plus i've heard walmart forgets peoples oil filters when doing oil changes that's scarry.

If you really think the ban was used to hide a crime, you should be happy to know that you aren't banned from court, and that Walmart will be compelled to pay attention to any legal action you take against them. Just be very careful not to tell the judge what crops to pick.
