House prices are out of control, youngsters with professional well paid jobs are living in poverty, while the middle aged are spending their free money on expensive holidays and four wheel drives. National insurance is the highest it has ever been, yet youngster can forget a state pension or free dental treatment. We have to pay for our own private pensions as well as our parents free state pensions. Public transport costs a fortune, the old get it free. Gas bills are massive the old get heating allowance.
University is only for the rich.

I'd like to know a variety of reasons a soldier can earn a promotion.
Can being in the military for a long period of time be a reason?
Saving 10 soldiers lives?
Well planned strategies?
I'd especially love to hear from real soldiers tell me their reasons for being promoted.

I was just wondering since Saddam is gone will the US go after the radical Shia cleric al-Sadr before he becomes to much of a threat for the region? What if anything is being done to get rid of this threat?

1st of all "Happy New Year!!" & I hope everyone brought it in safely. I'm disgusted & annoyed w/the way the people in my area bought in the year. Up until 1:30am they were shooting up guns (alot of them sounded illegal). This is an old tradition & it needs to be defunked. When bullets go up, they must come down somewhere & there have been cases- where bullets traveling far away and stricking someone (in another area). It is illegal to do this in most states/just like fireworks are illegal because it is a threat & harmful. I think it is so reckless, irresponsible & selfish (because you're not thinking of the safety of others..keep n mind most people r drunk while doing this). It's not worth it, it may seem like harmless fun to some but it can be DEADLY. I know the law is a little slack w/enforcing on this day. But, we should be more mindful & be more creative on this day, how do u guys feel? & what are some other ways we can safely bring in"2008"? I think Dick Clark had the best idea..

With the popularity of Obama and Clinton both at this point seem to be heading into the election against each other. If one of them wins the Democratic Ticket and chooses the other for the Vice President. Will you vote for them? I think this is the STRONGEST TICKET and BEST CHOICE for America in 2008. Your view/views?

Will America lose another 111 service members in January, 2007. We lost 111 in December of 2006. We now have over 3000 dead.
We have over 30,000 wounded, the occupation if Iraq has lasted longer than WW11. a full 60 percent of the dead were under 25 years old. 62 of the dead were women. Ohio lost 138. Only 20 percent were classified as non hostile deaths. Of the dead 24 were only 18 years old. Half of the 3000 dead died from a faceless, Cowardly enemy remotely detonated IEDs, improvised explosive devices.
WE need end the occupation of Iraq. Take our service members out of Iraq's civil war.
Write your Senator now, tell them to cut off the money. Any more dead in the occupation of Iraq will fall on the shoulders of Democrats. The people have spoken. Now Democrats must do their duty and Congress must shut off the money.
