I have 3 Netherland Dwarf Rabbits.

Aspen is a 10 month old, 1 1/2 pound Tort doe. Victoria is a 2 year old, 2 1/2 pound Smoke Pearl doe. Cirrus is a 2 year old, 2 1/2 pound Opal buck. None have ever been bred before. They are all pedigreed and come from show stock.

Question is this... I found a website with the following quote "The first litter must be born before the female is one year old. The reason for this is that after this age the pelvic bones fuse and she would not be able to give birth naturally."

Has anyone heard of this? If its true, then I cant breed Victoria. I also have concerns with the size of Aspen & Cirrus, is it ok to use a buck that is a pound larger than the doe? I know in animals such as dogs its important, but in other animals it isnt an issue.

Thank You

I'd like to have a pet, I love small dogs, but my parents hate dog smell and hair all over the house. If they are too young and pee on the floor, even worse. I don't like cats at all, I'm scared of cats. What else you advice me to get? To be easy to take care of, also...Thanks.

My neighbour has offered me a chance to ride her gelding she has just gotten broken in. I was wondering if you have any tips
(only if you know what you are talking about please) for exercises etc that I can do? Also I was wondering what was your opinion on how much longer until he can be cantered with a rider? I know that his back mucles have to be built up, but I've been told many different things, some not the same as my own ideas.
Thank you :)
Details appreciated

I see people do it everyday @ the park, walking down the street etc. How is this possible? My oldest baby Maggie (4) is the best with walking, she doesn't tug and she can go without a leash sometimes. I didn't train her to do this and it is only within this past year she has been trusted to do so.

Ok, I have two pet rats named Angel and Algernon... but they won't eat!! I have an appointment for the vet tomorrow, but They are skin and bones!! I've tried giving them snacks, sweet foods, baby foods, soft meat, everything!! They're so skinny and small, and they're breathing is very odd, like a hiccup everytime they breath, I'm very scared for them!

Please help!! I feed them, bathe them, and clean their house, I take care of them, but I don't know why they're sick!!

Please give links, if possible... Thank you...

I'm thinking of buying two dogs, but I don't know whether I should get two dogs from the same litter or different litters. Does anyone know which is better or the pros and cons?

Not a hamster. No from a breeder. Just a gerbil from a pet store.

I finally caved to my wife, and got her a cat for her birthday, as long as i pick it out. We didn't get to the SPCA in time, so we went to Petsmart. There was a cage on the floor seperate from the other cats, with claws flying out to whatever was close by. We got close to the cage, and he growled and was knawing something. The lady said that couples with kids couldn't take him, and he doesn't get along with other cats. Is this the right choise?

i found a bird by a bridge while i was walking home. it was laying on the ground. i was wondering what happend 2 it so i came close and say blood near and and saw he was trying to fly but couldnt, it couldnt even walk, i think it tore its leg or somthing. it look like a weird kind of exotic bird, i think some 1 owned it because it had some ribbon tied around its neck. so i decided 2 take it home, i know i shouldv taken it to a vet place or somthing but it was late at night and the vetnerian place was closed. so i put in a cage (a really big one) with bird food and water. It was just standing by the side. What should i do now??????? (i know, take it 2 the vets place but the vets place isnt gonna be open for a while......(i know i shouldnt have piked up the bird but i just couldnt let it die on the cold hard ground....) help plz

We just bought my 11 year old daughter a female dwarf hamster this past Saturday. To our surprise, we found out she is giving birth this evening. My daughter's friend is over spending the night and thought she heard a noise in the igloo. She picked the igloo up and moved some of the bedding and saw something pink. My daughter looked and realized it was two babies. My daughter's friend said that her finger brushed one of the babies when she was moving the bedding. Is this going to pose a problem for mom? We have left the cage in my daughter's room and closed the door to give mom peace and quiet. I'm just hoping I'm not going to have to explain why moms sometimes eat their young to my four year old. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Today is my birthday and i just got a young fancy black bear Hamster. He is all black with a little white on his chin and lower belly. I believe he'll get a little more white as he gets older.

Do you know of any exotic but really cute names? I love the name peanut but so many people have it, i want something different, what do you think?

we have a few hobby sheep, our first year we bought a ram who produced no lambs so we kept a ram lamb from a ewe we bought when pregnant (we sold her). This year we have lambs - yeah!!!
so we are wondering if we keep a ram lamb of his will they fight? We only have 15 ewes BUT dont want to go through another year of no lambs, we heard that cold may effect rams fertility so he (having been here through the winter) have not be fertile (this seems odd, it got to -20 C here, they had a barn to go in)

so can you keep rams together with ewes or will the rams fight each other? is it true cold effects fertility? and what are the risks of having a ram breed its mom?
