Its very normal - we never forget because of the unconditional love they give us - I still get quite upset about our beautiful Maltese terrier Millie who was poisoned last year by a drunken as* hole who lived behind us. She used to yap and bark a bit but this guy was a real piece of work. Anyway our beautiful little dog ended up dead and the as* hole ended up with a long stay in hospital ...
I will never forget her, nor get over the fact she died a horrible death in my wifes arms on the way to the vet. She never deserved that.

Normal? Absolutely! It shows you have something more than many other people in this sometimes cruel world . I don't believe for a second that anyone should feel the need to just forget those that touched our lives. Don't forget, your pets, whom you loved, are partially responsible for making you - you. You were able to share and learn what an unconditional love really means - which in turn, makes you a better person because of it. So, besides others in your life, your pets should get a little credit AND recognition - and though they are gone, the least we could do is remember them.

because your pets are very special and they bring you joy for as long as you have them, each one has a special meaning no matter how long they are with us. You will always have a special place in your heart for everyone of them, and when you get a new one it doesn't mean you forget the one that passes the new one just adds to your joy and love. It is so normal to love your pets, they are part of your world and when you bring them home they become part of the family no matter how big or small they are. I think of the ones that have pasted and the joy they brought while they where with me. My pets are my children and as long as they are happy for their time with me so am I.

Yes it hurt - but look at the bright side - you remember all the good fun times together and keep them at heart. Because each one of your pets have left a good impression memories behind so you can look back and have a big smile on your face without being sad.

The reason you cant forget the pets in your life that have died is because you loved them... I am much like your self I remember Buffy(dog), Match(gerbil), Winkin & Blinkin(birds), Killer(gerbil), Tuffy, Sugar & Kodiak(dogs) like they where here yesterday. I sometimes, usaully before I go to sleep, really miss each and every one of these beautiful creatures because of all the time we spent together. When this happens I go to Lucy(dog), Red & Miro(betas) and I tell them I love them. I usaully feed the fish because they like it. With Lucy on the other hand I take her on a run because she so enjoys running. Keep giving your heart to the ones you love. People like you are PERFECT :-)

I lost my german shepherd Sasha in october 05 and i still cry for her now. she was more than just a pet she was my girl and my life. it hurts so deep inside that she is gone. i had to make the painfull decesion tp have her put to sleep cos she was very sick with kidney disease and if i dod not put her to sleep she would of been in a lot of pain till she died. i still i cant believe that i made that decesion it was the hardest thing i ever had to do in my life and i will never forgive my self for it.
i think that after loosing a pet it will hurt forever but it helps to think about all the happy time you shared with them and all the happiness that you brought to each other.
My girl sasha will live in my heart forever and not a day will go by that i dont think about her.

It is very normal. Pets are not just animals...they become part of our families. They are like brothers, sisters, children.

"We have a secret, you and I that no one else shall know.
For who but I can see you lie each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths and see ahead of me,
your form racing with the wind so young again and free.
And only I can see you swim in every book I pass
and when I call, no one but I can see the bending grass."
"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own,
live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality,
never fully understanding the necessary plan."

Of course it's normal. They were members of your family and you loved them more than you loved some people. You will always love them and feel bad but at the same time try to feel fortunate that you had them in your life in the 1st place. It would be abnormal to just forget them. The world needs more people like you!

Yes, it is. You had very sentimental attachments to your pets. Its so easy to love them and so hard to forget them. I wish that pets lived longer. You should always keep a pet in your home to love, it will minimize your pain.

That is love......They loved you uncondionally, as you did them. You will be with them again someday and they will be just as happy to see you as you will them. You are a very special person to have the special heart that you do. Time helps, but they will always forever be in your heart. Memories are a good thing. I know that is what I live on.
