People always tell me i am so mean to keep my horses in if it is going to thunder storm. I am fine with rain in the warm weather, but i have known horses to get hit and killed by lightning. am i just being overprotective or is there really something to worry about?

Ps i live in NJ and i am reffering to the summer time.

She will roll very violently! ( I use pine shavings) I know its not colic b/c it has been going on for weeks but i am concerned about her getting cast when she rolls. Could any one tell me why she might be doing this and what i could do to maybe stop it? Thank you!!

I have a cat, and I talk to her often, like most pet lovers do to their pets. Sometimes when I am talking to my cat, she will look at me like she is listening, then she will blink...She actually does this quite a bit. What does the blinking mean or what does it symbolize?

I know for sure that she is pregnant. She's become very aggressive and has tripled in size in the last couple of weeks. We can also see the babies move when shes laying on her side. This will be her first litter. I'm not sure when she got pregnant due to us thinking we had 2 females together.

I'm doing an English paper for my college degree in Education. Do you think children should have pets while growing up? Why or why not? Did you have a pet as a child/ what did it teach you? Thanks to everyone who answers.

My daughter (26) and I have had animals for a long time. (we both work long days). I believe that if I am at home the indoor dogs get to go out a couple extra times (mine have open water bowls). She believes that since hers are "trained" to tinkle less that even when she is home they only go out the standard 3 times (her dogs only get water in am and pm in a certain amount-she has one that will over drink and throw up, has since it was a puppy). These are all medium to large dogs. We do not live in the same house, so it is not a matter of which is going to be the "rule." I am not asking you to take sides, just what is your way of taking your dogs out? We are both in the country so it is not a matter of them being apartment animals that need to go to the park. I could understand that. Just curious as to what you do...your approach may even be different that either of ours for any animal that needs to be taken out to potty. Thanks in advance for the answers. Alda

Mystery Pet

This pet can be a cat, dog, fish, bird, or any other type of companion animal. Here are the hints:

1. Although I have been known in Europe since the early 1900's, I was only introduced to the United States 40 years ago.
2. I am one of the more affectionate members of my species, and will bond easily to the person who cares for me.
3. Even though I have a long silky coat, I am considered to be a lazy man's pet, because I require little maintenance.

I have had my cats for 10 years and although I wish they can live forever, I know in my heart that cats generally live from 15-20 years. They are both very healthy but my doctor has said to me "they are not young anymore." How did any of you deal with the death of your pet(s)?

i think intentual killing is wrong. .boys up here live for going out and beat opposums, raccoons, porcuppines and other creatures with bats for fun. .i personally think its rude and inconsiderate they also will swirve on purpose to hit animals on the rds(including cats sometimes) am i the only one who thinks this is childish. . ?

ok well i bought a black and white paint gelding, reining horse, monday an he's the best! ive been riding him for about a year an i got the money an bought him the only problem im having w/ him is b4 i bought him beginner students were riding him an let him get away with alot of stuff like when he'd slide they'd close their legs an make him side pass or walk out of his slide an when they'd ask him 2 spin tehy'd make him walk circles inside of actually spinning. an he's been very jumpy lately an he always thinks that i'm gona be making him change his lead. an when i groom him off he always side passes wheni bring the saddle 2 him an when i brush him an hoof pick his feet he tries 2 bite my backside. an i kno that he didnt use 2 do this bcz when my trainer first got him he waz a well mannered reining horse an he'd nvr try 2 bite a person of sidestep out of his slides an spins an he'd nvr try 2 reach around an bite a persons foot. is there anyway i can get him back 2 his oldself??

My horse, Molly, is very sweet when no one is riding her but once you put a saddle on her, she acts like an idiot. Shs pulls on the reigns, chomps at the bit, pins her ears back when I ask her to go to a trot. Currently she is using a curb bit with a medium port. Would changing the bit make her respond better? How do I get her to enjoy work better? She is really sweet in teh field, but when it is time to work she won't listen to anything I say or do. HELP!!!!!!
