He may have a urinary tract infection or crystals in the urine. Take him to the vet to have it checked before thinking it's anything else, most likely is a medical condition.

I'd be willing to bet that your kitty has a urinary tract infection. Cats don't become un-trained overnight for no good reason.
Other possibilities are recent disruptions in the household or switching to a type of cat litter that he doesn't like. (And are you keeping his box clean?)
But a UTI is by far the most probable cause. He needs the vet pronto; he will be tested for both bacteria and crystals in his urine. Please don't delay, Hon, UTI's are serious and can even be fatal, especially to a male cat.

Also have the vet check for feline diabetes. There may be a behavior issue if there has been a big change in his environment, people who have come and go, etc. Make sure his litter box is accessible, clean, and has the kind of litter he likes. Give him lots of attention, especially if there have been changes in his life that he's upset about.

It looks like it has a urinary track infection, if so you have to take him to the vet as soon as possible. the poison in his body might kill him. Also I recommend changing his food to Science Diet food. It helped my cat and since he ate that food there are no more problems. Good luck!

I agree with the others: A urinary tract infection is the most likely culprit. I've had to deal with that in my male kitties before.

Once he is well, you may have to train him back to his litter box. Covering your furniture with plastic tarps will help with that.

Good luck!

i agree with the UTI so have the vet check for that. if that is not the problem then perhaps you need to clean the box more often. either that or get another box or a bigger one. my cat started peeing all over and giving him an extra box worked.. he didnt want to stand in his poo in order to pee. so one box he used for pee the other for poo
