Whoa! Did you name your boys after that British comedy duo "The Two Ronnies"? Do you have a little Ronnie and a big Ronnie? :)
Anyway, Rats are not picky about their toys. Most anything their human can think up becomes a toy.
Toys that cost $0.00 to $1.00:
wadded up paper balls
paper towel rolls
popcicle sticks
straws
empty tissue boxes
full boxes of tissue
cardboard box full of discarded material
craft wooden numbers and letters
ribbons and string from presents
meat bones
empty boxes
you as their private jungle gym
fruit tree branches (only if you know they haven't been sprayed with pesticide/herbicide)
Wrestling them with your hand
Will cost you a bit:
rodent chews and treats
Dog toys
Cat toys
Bird toys
whole coconut
whole nuts in the shell
ping pong balls
tennis balls
clothes pegs
plastic or real shells
Throw a towel or blanket on the floor that they can tunnel under. Just watch where you're walking around them.
rope tied between two table legs
climbing up a rope
bird ladders (tip the ladder end over end as the rat races over it)
children's blocks
playhouses
toy cars, boats, trucks
stuffed toys from garage sells
floaties on the water
PCV pipe
Pea-diving (fill a new paint tray with water and toss in a bunch of frozen peas)
Hide food around the room for them to find
Crack the shell of hard boiled eggs and let the rats get into it
Pillow toss (gently toss the rat onto a soft pillow. They usually run back to your hands for more)

Wheels, if they don't use the wheel or clear ball for it's intended purpose, it makes an awesome toilet or sleeping compartment, and that would be their choice :)
That's all I can think of at the moment off the top of my head.

PARROT TOYS!!! They are so excellent and it will take them a while to chew through them. Pringles boxes can be made into ratty tunnels if you're not keen on buying the hard wearing platic ones. Mineral biscuits, rat hammocks, little hidey holes, lots of levels. Basically anything different and interesting.
Just to elaborate on someone's point - don't bother with a wheel. Rats rarely use them and NEVER buy one with bars. Rat's tails have been torn off in the spokes. With that said, you can't really go wrong. xx

Rats like to chew a lot. At stores you can buy flavored wood for rodents which are always popular. I also recommend items that your rats can climb in and around. Not only to they serve as nice places for a rat to crawl over and explore, they also make a good protected place a rodent would like to sleep in. For a cheaper alternative, empty paper towel rolls, dried fruit, and other types of card board are fun to chew up and play around with.

Rats will play with almost anything...but THEY DO GET BORED...I give my rats larger carboard tubes, plastic tubes, hammocks, random pieces of cloth(I go to Wal-Mart and get about a yard of the suff on sale for a dollar), cat toys, bird toys(the ones with lots of parts to them that can hang in the cage), ropes and ladders to climb on, you can try to get a large running wheel, but most rats won't use them. I've only ever has 2 rats use one. Rats do get boared, the like to have lots of random things in their cages to keep them buisy.

My friend had a pet rat and she used to have a little ball - like the ones cats get with a bell in - to play with. She absolutely loved it!

They can use a wheel for exercise but rodents and most animals in general don't play like people do. They have rat things to do and don't get bored. If they get bored they sleep.

Try going to the pets at home website. I used to keep 4 rats, Kiefer, Harley, Merlyn & Casper. I got their toys from there. xxx

Rats are intelligent and inquisitive. Inner cardboad tubes from kitchen rolls, small branches, things to climb up, etc., are all good

go to your local pet shop or store and see what they have. I know that you can get gnaws and rat balls similar to hamster balls for them to play in and rat wheels. if you in the UK try pets at home or in the US try petsmart.
