Hey guys, i recently ran into this thing on a website it's a lighting system for the fish tank that works with a few led lights that imitates the moonlight at night... it brings a little computer system that connects to the lights and turns on and off from dusk to dawn and imitates the moon cycle. I saw a couple pictures of it on the site and it looked really good and very nice, i'm just wondering if this kind of light actually has any benefits to the fish. They say there that this light helps with the fish's biological clock or something, just want to know if there's any truth to that. Thank you.

p.s. Here's the website, if u're interested in looking at it.

HI,
I have an Angel Fish that has been acting completely normal but when I turned on the light this morning he was laying on the bottom of the tank sideways, almost upside down. I have 1 other angel fish, 2 barbs, a sucker and 2 snails who are all doing fine. Please Help me. Is there any hope for my little guy and WHAT can I do?? The water quality is in good condition and I don't know what caused this. I love my little guy dearly, so any help would be GREATLY Appreciated.
p.s. The two angel fish have been together for over 6 months and fight occasionally but this never seemed to bother them before. (They are in a 10 gallon tank.) THANKS AGAIN!!

Hi,
I just got a 70 gallon tank, and i want to start a community of small freshwater fishes. I've read that certain species of fish "Prefer" different pH levels. Ex: Angelfish (6.5-7.2) and neon tetra (5.8-6.2).

What level should i keep my aquarium at if i want a WHOLE lot of different fishes?????

I asked this earlier, but no one really answered it.

I used to keep my betta in a 1 and 1/2 gallon jar, and performed a 100% water change every week to ten days.....it never got cloudy. Even when I went on vacation, and my roommate didn't change the water - didn't get cloudy

So I decided to move "Mojo" over to a deluxe retirement home - a three gallon aquarium with carbon/floss and undergravel filtration - gravel and heat - and 24 hours later the water is looking a little hazy.

How come the bowl never got cloudy, but the aquarium is?

Should I move him out - and put snails in until the aquarium cycles?

The only reason I put him in there is I figured I never had a problem with the bowl getting cloudy.....Does it have something to do with the gravel? He never had gravel before....
(and yes, I washed it well.....)

How come an aquarium has a cycle, but a bowl doesn't?
thats the part that really confuses me.

Could someone please explain to me in terms that don't require a phd the process of tank cycling.
My tank has been cycling for approx 2 weeks, with no fish in it. Last week the amonia and nitrite levels were only slightly high, i have since added a live plant, done a 20%water change and put some fish food in. When I tested it again yesterday the nitrite and amonia levels had shot right up.
Is this normal? Approximatley how much longer will it be before it is safe to add the fish? Also what should happen to the levels when the fish are introduced?
Thanks.

So I have a 2.5 gallon little tank for my daughter (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3635102), and we have 4 goldfish in it. The power filter that came with the tank is not working now. I can hear it running, but there's no water coming out of it. I've tried changing the cartridge in it, but still nothing. I have NO idea what I'm doing with any of this :( Some of our fish now have bloody looking noses, and I'm sure it's from this, whatever the hell is wrong! Any suggestions??

Hey there all - I used to keep my Betta in a 2 gallon Jar and changed the water (100%) every week - so when I set up my aquarium I figured "he's used to going into totally new water everyweek, this shouldn't be that big of a deal" - so I plunked him in a 3 gallon aquarium yesterday and wouldn't ya know it, the water is starting to get hazy - sigh - so I guess he is going back in the jar for the time being....but could someone answer me this.....why is it that his jar didn't get cloudy every week, when the aquarium is? It has gravel and a couple of rocks - anything I could do that would help? A plant maybe?

Thanks a bunch y'all
You guys rock

It is stuck to it, so I think it is alive and fine. But its eyes and everything are in the shell. Do snails sleep when they are attached to stuff? If it were dead it would have fallen off, but he attaches to other things to and the shell is pulled down over his eyes. Is he just sleeping? Is he ok? I just want to be sure.

I know I need a regulator to put on the tank, but besides that I don't know what I need. Plus I don't want to buy two different things that fulfill the same purpose, so I need to know what I need before I go out and buy everything.

I am considering getting a ramshorn snail for a five gallon or ten gallon already established tank. I am wanting to know if it is easy to breed these snails and if they are asexual. I was wondering if the newborns would be eaten by either bettas or guppy fry(I don't keep betta and guppy fry together!). Also if there is any other info on breeding, then that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....Gup.

When I started having aquarium with fish 2 months ago, I bought a snail to see if it really clean the tank sides .
However, every week I got small green algae growing on the sides. I keep scraping and it keep going back .
Then about 2 week ago, I bought a borneo sucker, and what do you know, no more algae anywhere on the tank side. The guy seem to move around alot. I think he is the best cleaner for my 10 gallons tank :P, unlike that lazy small pleco that people said to avoid like plague o_O .
