When I started having aquarium with fish 2 months ago, I bought a snail to see if it really clean the tank sides .
However, every week I got small green algae growing on the sides. I keep scraping and it keep going back .
Then about 2 week ago, I bought a borneo sucker, and what do you know, no more algae anywhere on the tank side. The guy seem to move around alot. I think he is the best cleaner for my 10 gallons tank :P, unlike that lazy small pleco that people said to avoid like plague o_O .

My best small fish tank cleaner is my trusty siphon and his good buddy, scrubber pad. These two are much better than any fish or invertebrate you can buy because, unlike living things, these do not produce waste that, in turn, feeds algae. If you are talking about animals, I'd have to say that Red Cherry Shrimp to a pretty amazing job, as well as Oto Catfish and Farlowellas (though Farlowellas will reach 6+ inches).

My best tank cleaner is me using my siphon/vacuum, algae scraper, clean filter floss, nitrate test kits, water changing buckets and "elbow grease". This is true of my small, medium and large tanks!! I only purchase catfish, yabbies, snails and other "janitors" if I want them as a specimen in my tank. Currently, I have over 15 tanks and no "cleaner" fish. I did have a common pleco but sold it when it got to be 22 inches long 6 months ago.

Boy, it relies upon on a fabulous variety of issues. Do you have a clear out? if so, what variety? each and every have there very own way that's maximum suitable for cleansing. frequently you only ought to alter an element of the water even with the indisputable fact that and the critters only stay in the tank in the process the approach. If algae is the subject only put in a fish that eats it.
