If you are only feeding Microworms, the fry will not pack on the pounds as quickly as they need to, try adding some newly hatched brine shrimp artemia as well. This fills them up and you can even see the little balls of artemia inside the fry glowing orange, which proves they are eating it.

You don't need to feed flake straight off as you can now buy special fry granules which are a sinking grain which is protein packed and carries an Immuno health booster which speeds the development of the fry.

Only once the fry start to look like minature females should you wean them onto crushed flake foods.

Tetra do a fry flake which is already finely crushed, holds more protein than adult flake, and is also a growth food.

Bear in mind with betta fry, that the baby males will start bickering with each other when they are around three to foor weeks old and damaged fins at this age can prevent proper adult flowing fins from developing. Its at this age when they should be seperated. To make space for them, any which are too small, weaker or deformed should be culled humanely to make space for their stronger, better health siblings which keep the species healthy.

For the first 2 or 3 days the fry will not be large enough to consume micro worms.Single celled foods will grow them much fast. Infusoria,or green water infusion is necessary for the first few days, artemisia, even newly hatched ones, are too large.
