I have 4 Bettas, all separated. 2 are in a double tank w/ a divider so they can't see each other. And one of them keeps trying to jump out of his side of the tank. Once he jumped out while we were cleaning his tank and landed on the floor.
Any suggestions?

Since Yahoo Answers has no 'amphibian' section, I'll ask the friendly fish folk :)
I've read up on Axolotls and, frankly, I think they're fantastic. So, Axolotl owners, please give me some personal wisdom about these little fellas. Anything I should know that's not in the books? Foibles? Quirks?
Thanks in advance!

I am currently cycling a 20 gallon tank (fishless) to become the new home for one of three goldfish that live in my 30 gallon tank. I am debating which goldfish to move into the new tank once it is ready. I was going to move the "bully" of the tank in since he is the biggest and tend to nip on the others. However, I was also thinking about putting the smallest in the tank by himself since the others put up with the bully well and I thought that he could use the extra food etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

Ok, tank was fine first 2 days. Then progressively became more and more cloudy. It is now day 4 and tank is still cloudy. Yesterday I noticed it was a little better, but again this morning, cloudy!!! I did everything I was supposed to do, washed everything (rocks, plastic plants, etc..), I'm running a decent filter. Ph is good, etc. What is going on??? Somebody help please.
Thanks, J

I know that I want a nice mix of small schooling fish and some larger fish. I want to know if I should start with adding the smaller fish, then move on to bigger fish later, or vice versa. Also any suggestions y'all may have on varying size fish that should live fairly peacefully together? I love the neon tetras for my little fish, or maybe some mollies and red wags and have thought about kissers or some dwarf gouramis for my larger fish, but read conflicting info on temperment. Any suggestions, words of wisdom?

Again, I have a 40 gal freshwater, running empty for almost a month, levels all reading in recommended range. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

Ok everyone. I pulled a plastic lilly pad out of my pond yesterday and it had these "things" all over it. They did not appear to move at all, but they were all over it. Can anyone identify what these may be? I'm curious if anyone can come up with an answer. Thanks. ;o)

while I was feeding her and she's not looking so good =(

When she swims she tilts slightly to one side and I think she may have damaged a fin. She fell about one and a half feet onto the carpet. She wasn't out of the water for that long though, thankfully.

Is there anything I can do for her?

I have 1 tank hung Millenium 3000 280 GPH wet/dry filter, 1 Canister filter with the water jet attachment 115 GPH, both with carbon filters, and 1 under gravel filter system with no carbon carbon filter attached to a pump. I have crushed coral in the tank. The specific gravity is at 1.027-1.028. The tempture is right around 78- 79 degrees I have the PH undercontrol i think, I have 1 live rock and some bio media from the pet store the guy gave me. I have 4 Damsels and 1 Black Molly. This is my frist saltwater tank and I feel like the 2 small petstores in my town are jerkin me around tryin to get me to buy stuff and they both give me different awnsers to the same questions. Could someone tell me if what i have is ok for a start to my saltwater experiance??

ok my Finding Nemo Tank is reaaaaaaaalllly weird there's a Blue Tang Fish
Foxface
Gobie ( idk how 2 spell )
3 clownfish
anenome
2 crabs and a horseshoe crab
Lobster ( a baby )
2 shrimp
2 starfish and 1 serpent starfish

the blue tang fish: first i bought one and after a while she went missing. we figured she died. we bought another now that one went missing. 2 Crabs: ok first i just looked at the tank... the second crab is dead. so nvm. the 1st stays in a rock and barely comes out. Anenome: we used to have 2 but the second turned brown. Gobies: again we used to have 2 but we took it out beacause the first took a chunk out of his tail.
the other fish r fine except these little spider-like things cling on to them what are they? and the foxface turned a little dark two. i bought a water test kit, the waters fine but why is everything dying!?!?

I have a 10 gallon tank (im new at this, now realize bigger would have been better) I had one then 2 danios to assist with cycling the tank, checked water everyday, thought it was cycled.. had the cloudy water, that cleard up, did water changes after awhile etc, then one by bloody one my fish died I tested the water everything seemed normal so i slowly, re-stocked my tank, same thing happend...the Ph was a little high but i decided to take the water to the pet store for eval. The test revealed that I had NO Ph, the lady said she'd never seen the test strip turn that color. (my tests strips were obviously misleading) So I just drained my entire tank and washed all the plants and ornaments. QUESTION #1 why was my Ph so low? I used a water treatment, let it sit at least 24hrs before adding it. Was my water too soft??? #2 when I re-stock will i have to re-cycle again?? should I rinse my gravel off? does it contain the good bacteria? please help me, I miss the pretty fish. i did add salt.

It was something like this what would be the best tank set up for a 75 gallon tank.
1.)Oscar
2.)Oscar and Pleco
3.)Oscar and firemouth
4.)Oscar and convict
5.)Oscar and silver dollar

I know silver dollars are schooling fish but I wouldn't have room for a school of them. You don't have to answer this question because I already figured it out, but why would yahoo remove this question?

I recently bought two cichlids and put them in a tank with two others. My two new ones don't seem to eat. The others picked on one specific one a lot, so I separated him I tried to feed him that way. He still won't eat. I was feeding them flakes, but I bought cichlid pellets and they refuse to eat those as well. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I recieved 2 bettas last october and i have kept them in a divided tank. They've both been really healthy but now one of them has been acting weird. He'll like sit inbetween the leaves of his fake plant and when he swims up to the surface he looks as if something is pulling him back down. And then sometimes he lies on the gravel like he's dead. The other one is completly normal.

is there something wrong with him?

But sadly, most of them got eaten by the mollies. There are a few left, but i don't know if they will survive. WHat should I do next time this happens?! And how can I tell if the White Cloud is going to have babies again!! I want to know so i can separate them before they have eggs and whatever. Do I feed teh fish tewh same food, and is it okayu to leave the parents in the same tank as the little ones. PLEASE HELP!

I'm trying to come up with a hypothesis to test on goldfish (since they're cheap) for my college biology lab project. Has anyone ever heard of a goldfish changing its color due to the water it lives in being dyed, or it's food pellets being dyed with food coloring. I am not trying to kill the fish. If anyone can suggest a better experiment using goldfish - that would be great too.
