People! We need to give people a little leeway when explaining that their fish is full of eggs. Pregnant may not be the technically correct term, but, I doubt most people, even those chiding here, know the correct term for when a fish is full of eggs, so let the Asker just ask their question and just answer the question without attacking them on semantics. That said, it is difficult to breed goldfish and actually get goldfish eggs to hatch. Even though the female may be full of eggs, and even though she will lay those eggs, there still needs to be a male ready to breed and inseminate those eggs. So even though you have a fat fish which you might assume is female, it may not be. And even if it is female and if it does lay eggs, they may not be fertilized. And even if they do get fertilized, they still may not hatch. Goldfish are just like that. So, if this fish does lay eggs, keep an eye on them. If they get "fuzzy/fungusy" looking after a week or so, remove them because that means they weren't fertilized and/or didn't live. They are dead and need to be removed. But, if you do actually get fry, yes, you do need to separate the fry from the adults because the adults will definitely eat them.

No,no,no---a Goldfish CANNOT be pregnant! There will be no birth,Goldfish eggs are externally fertilized, and then eaten by the parents in small tanks. Goldfish eggs a scattered among plants where they will adhere, but they do not come out of the female fertilized, there must be a male present.
Get a book about raising Goldfish and read it.

She should put just the babies in a seperate tank. The other fish, including the mother, will eat the babies if given the chance.

Tell her to do some research because goldfish do not get pregnant like mammals they are fish and scatter eggs. Breeding goldfish is for advanced hobbiests. She won't be able to do it, she obviously does not have the skills needed to breed goldfish.

i think if no longer something has replaced, the fish is pregnant, if the fish had an infection or another problem, there could be different indicators or indicators different than the enlarged abdomen.

to my knowledge, goldfish are not livebearers. they lay eggs. she may just be ready to lay eggs, but if there is no male to fertalize them, no babies will come of it.
