hey yall, I have a pretty, spacey, craft bowl in my room and I'd like to know what kind of fishes would be compatible for it. I don't want to hear how I need a 50 gallon fish tank with a heater, thermometer, &c. I just want to know what kind of fish would do well in it and how to take care of that fish properly. For example, maybe a cute little guppy or a goldfish?

Also, would a snail be able to go with [your suggested fish(es)]?

Thanks.

I purchased 20 marine snails last week and placed them in my marine tank. They made a mass exodus towards the top of the tank and now are all on the underside of the lid, many of them out of the water. They do not appear to be feeding on the algae or moving much. When I move any to a lower part of the tank they just move straight back up to the lid again. I am very confused! Can anyone help? Thank you

I just want to know how these lights works and If I buy do I need a fish tank cover? I don't have a fish tank cover and I am planning to buy an aquarium light. I have seen these lights on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=250160943770&Category=46314&_trksid=p3907.m29

and this on petco website

http://www.petco.com/product/7666/All-Glass-Aquarium-Twin-Tube-Strip-Lites.aspx

I wonder which one is better? And If I get one do I need a fish tank cover again or a plastic acrylic diffuser like thing or they come already with water protection? I don't have a hood on my tank and I am in a budget the only thing I could afford now is a light.

I just bought a pH test kit and my ph is above 7.6(max reading) I have read many different opions on pH for gold fish in freashwater fish for dummies it says 7-9
the kit says 7.5
and this dude at the petstore says they keep their gold fish at 6.6 and that they tried 8 and all the fish died.
I've used the same tap water for my fish for 3 years now. I've only had 2 deathes in this period pretty recetly since my fish are getting old. I lost one to a immpossible to cure diease and the other to old age. should I ajust my pH levels to the suggested ones and which one is right? or should I stick to the water I'm using? If I do need to change is there another way to lower my ph without the use of chemicals?
thanks

Fairly small fish. No bigger than 3-4 inches each? I'm not keeping corals in it, but I do have quite a few small invertabrates that they'd have to get along with. Snails, hermits, Mithrax crab. Plus an anemone and a few feather dusters. Thanks alot!

My sister has a regular 25 cent common goldfish. She wants to add it to our outside pond (I think the pond is 400 gallons). I tested the water and all is perfect. The pond has a filter, light, lily pads, rocks and hiding space, and a small waterfall. The only thing is that the pond has algae. Of course we can treat the pond for this though.

So is it ok to add the fish? What I was thinking was we put the goldfish in a bag like the pet store, float it in the pond, etc.

We will probably get a few more goldfish to go with this one.

Also, do we feed him his regular goldfish flake food? Or the special pond fish food? We own both.
