I bought a crab at walmart and i was wondering what kind it was because i forgot. what kind could it be they are really really small about the size of a hermit crab and they eat grits.

What if I wasn't home for a week or so, and just left the light on the whole time. Would that harm the fish?

i have a 55 gallon fishtank with 2 15 watt lights. the lights are brand new. i wanted to know what plants would be easy to care for with these conditions. also can i add snails? what will they do for my tank?

I set up a new 55 gal. I wiped out the tank with a new towle when I got it. Rensed the rocks and filled it up. Now I have micro bubbles every where on the sides of the tank on the rocks

i have a 55 gallon freshwater fishtank. there is gravel, water, 2 15 watt lights, and a filter. i have already added the aquasafe dechlorinator. it has been up and running forabout three days now. the water is crystal clear and it doesnt smell at all. when is it safe for me to add plants? when can i add fish?

Betta lives in filtered 1gallon tank-I'll try the 'feeding him a pea' to see if it IS actually a swim bladder problem-the last time I took him to the pet store was fore clowdyeye/red flaring (like a rash) on his gills that looked suspicious to me-I clean his tank very well and try to make a few water changes every 4or6 days.

Does that help for you guys helping me??

There are 10 neons and 8 varied. They always seem extra hungry in the mornings....hanging around the top of the tank and am wondering if i give them enough?

3 weeks ago I asked a ? on here about buying two Angels to go with the one I had....so I did buy two and here I am 3 weeks later watching one of the angels chase off some of the other fish in the tank ....then I just stuck my hand in to move a deco. that had tipped over and she attacked me ......now that I'am looking a little closer at the tank I see what looks like small tapioca on a large leaf ....duhh.... she seems to guarding it with one of the new Angels ....duhhhhh....so I guess I have eggs????? I just removed the unwanted third Angel and 3 Danios that kept being chased.....so, if this is in fact eggs/fry will the parents continue to guard them and take care of the fry???......I guess I need to do some research inline but I thought I would get some good advice from all of you first

I am considering purchasing the red bellied piranha but do not want to be limited in just owning piranha's in my tank. I know I am at risk by having any other fish in there but I was considering adding Baracuda's and Sting Rays......... Any suggestion?
Is this possible?


Is there any other type of fish that they can co-exist with ?

i just got my aquarium today and i filled it up with water and put the filter on. but when i plug it in, it doesn't suck up any water and circulate it through. i left it on for probably an hour and it still didn't do anything. am i supposed to let it run for a while? or is there something i'm doing wrong? i can hear the motor running, but the tube that goes into the water doesn't pull up any water. the part that pulls up the water is completely submerged in the water also. it is an aquatech filter, if that helps.

one gold fish with 4 other koi. that have been living together for along time. but today i found BJ (goldfish) laying sideways. i took him out and put him into a little bowel to make sure it was not sick. he is still breathing but sideways on the rocks. i tested the ammonia and it is find at 0ppm. is there anything you can help me with.

I seen a really pretty topical fish it was blue and had a little spot on top of its head that was a peachy, pink color. It was in with I think it was something called fruit Mixed Tetra. With out a picture any one have any idea's what it may be. It really didnt look like any of the other fruit mix tetra in the tank. Thanks

For the past few days my minnows have been dying and I can't figure out why. When I go to bed they're all fine, in the morning I find one stuck to the filter. This has happened three days in a row now and I have no idea why. Ammonia is 0ppm, Nitrite is 0ppm and nitrate is about 15ppm. I do weekly water changes of about 30%. I did change the substrate from gravel to sand on Monday, but I've left the top layer in pantyhose in the tank to keep the beneficial bacteria, until it grows on the sand. Also, the filter media is mature and all the decorations have been in the tank for months. I've been adding stability also since making the change.

I did add two new minnows to the tank on Tuesday, when the first 2 died I figured it was them but now that a third has died I'm not sure what's going on. There's no sign of disease or other health issues. Other occupants are a bolivian ram and 2 cories. It's a 20 gallon tank. Any help is appreciated.

This is my second copperband butterfly already. I have other fish in my 55 gals tank also. the first one didn't eat anything and it died. i bought this one about 4 days ago. till now I don't think it eats anything yet. I feed them Formular 2 flark, and myrits shrimp. other fish are doing very well. my tank is very stable, but the copperband butterfly is just not eating in the tank. Please help! I think this is its last day

I just got a new tank and i already have tropical chiclids( only 4) and i can either get realy nice (im in love with them) salt water fish like clowns and tang mabey i dant know (give me some ideas Including clowns) or i can stick with more chiclids ohhh and i have a 90 litre tank which is fairly small can i have salt water in that tank

i am just starting to cycle today and just a few minutes ago i did a 40% water change. I got the fish 3 days ago and the tank is a 10 gallon. I dont have a test kit for ammonia and nitrates and i cant get one until tom. or maybe the day after that. I live in the country so i have well water and have to add treatment stuff so do i have to add treatment stuff everytime i do a water change? And how many times a day should i change the water? also is there anything else i can do to help the fish?Oh yeah, what are some tips for cycling? Pretty much just tell me all you know. Thanks.
