I am using a drip system to acclimate my black molly to saltwater. It has been running for about 2-3 hours, and its at about 1.006. Should I continue the drip all day, or is it better to take a break every few hours? Thanks!

My betta jumped out of his tank the other day. I found him, popped him back in and following some suggestions on another yahoo question put a little more slime coat in his tank. He was doing better in a day (perked up and was eating), but now his fins are looking raggedy and I can see pieces of fin on the bottom of the tank. Do you think he has fin rot or is this a sign of stress from his recent suicide attempt?

i recently purchased a violet goby and i noticed it behaving strangely after a few hours in the tank. it stays near the top of the tank in a vertical position, and from what ive read about them they are natural hiders, i also read from one source that this could mean my alkalinity is high, any suggestions on this behavior or adjusting alkalinity? when i tested the water it said it was fine

So i figured out that the reason my plants keep dying is because my 20 gallon tank only has a 20 watt light! So i went to my local fish store to get a 65 watt light (what the guy there recommended)
and it was $70!!! Does anyone know where i can go or a website i can go to to get one for a lot cheaper? Thanks

I currently have a female guppy in a breeder trap, it is one that is basically made out of netting, and was wondering how to use one effectively while breeding guppies. She is showing all signs that she's getting ready to drop her fry. I was also wondering the pros and cons about them and how people feel about using them. I myself feel bad and want to let her out but want fry more.

why do they do this? like pacus and channel catfish?
its dumb. no one has a tank that can hold a full grown channel cat. the state record where we live is like 42 lbs. my store sells gars, and also some kind of grouper that gets 28inches!

Both my betta, in separate tanks, scramble to eat the stuff that comes up when I clean the tank. That is gross. Is that normal? I feed them once a day, every other day.
