are shovelnose catfish hard to take care? how big do they get? are they aggressive or passive?

The size they get in tanks is about 18" although they can get larger in the wild. They're okay with fish they can't fit in their mouths, but will eat smaller fish. They aren't one of the easiest catfish to care for. Give them dim if any lighting, floating plants, a covered aquarium (they're jumpers) and a BIG tank.

They grow quite big, so you will need an extremely LARGE tank and might eat small fish.
