I would like to make a few caves out of smaller rocks or gravel for my aquarium and I need to know what kind of glue to use that will hold up under water and won't harm my tank.

How do freshwater aquarium fish react to very high pH levels? What are some signs that I might observe if my aquarium pH level is very high?

If I'm not mistaken, I can put the roots of a peace lily in the bowl with my Beta. Right or not?

The information I am getting researching is coming up short of a definite answer.

My betta info: I have my Betta in a 10 gallon tank with a Penguin 100 Bio-Wheel power filter, an air stone, gravel and various plants. Used gravel from an established tank and also put filter media from an established filter inside the filter box. Have slightly less than 1 TBSP/5 gal of aquarium salt for the initiation period, temp at 75F, he is swimming around happily and flaring at his reflection. (I also keep a 55 gal Oscar tank and 29 gal Molly tank.) I will phase the salt out, although I know Mollies don't mind a bit of salt in their water and Bettas do have a similar look in the face.

Any honest advice, links, experiences will be greatly appreciated.

added 5 tablespoons of salt to 20 gallons few weeks ago, added 1 tablespoon every water change once a week, last week treated new small Oranda I put in tank with my large old Oranda for ich and it went away quick, treated with salt the same, little fish fine but large one looks like the onset of fin rot, slight whitening patches, slightly frayed ends, I JUST added sera baktopur for bacterial infection then found website that stated too much salt can cause fin rot apperance and even kill goldfish, said only add salt as a treatment, not every water change, should I remove 25% of water and add fresh without salt and put carbon back in to remove medicine? have I medicated too much in a short time, fish are in home tank not med tank,

Is it betta mating season? My bettas(male CT and a female) are flaring a lot. they've been kept together in a seperated 1 gal tank for about a month and they've rarely flared. The male's color changed from light blue to dark blue and so has the female's.

I have a male betta living in a bowl and i know its sick but i dont know with what. I know what all the sicknesses are and all the symptoms but i dont know which one it is. The fish looks like its covered with white slimey dust, it has a wierd orangish color on its body, and one of its fins is smaller and has a few black dots in them. He always stays in the bottom and always goes under whatever it could and when i take out the things it can get under it burries its head in the rocks. It doesnt eat at all and sometimes when it does, it spits it back out. What do you think it could be?

When I saw it for the first time a week ago it was white. Picked it up an hour ago and it has black mould looking stuff on it's face and along it's tail. The stupid woman in the pet shop said " you can have it cheaper cause I think it has a disease".
Does anyone know what it could have?

I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank. I bought three plants from Petsmart and they had snails on them! Also, buying plants like that is expensive! I was wondering if I can buy a plant at Home Depot (or wherever) like mondo grass or something. Then rinse the dirt off of the roots and put it in my tank. (which has gravel) Is that possible? Or does it have to be especially for aquariums? Mondo grass is one of the plants I bought at the pet store. Is there a different kind of plant that would be better?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

I am hoping to buy an Oranda goldfish. I want to buy a smaller one so I can watch it develop. Will a 10 gallon aquarium be large enough? Should I buy two Orandas?

I can't really understand the directions, they read: 22 drops or 1ml per each 20 litres (5.3 gal.) Treating 20 gallons, does that mean 66 drops?

I have tried eveything I can think of. I have been treating the Ick with Quick cure for nine days, took out my carbon for my filter, raised the temp to 83 degress, added 4 tsp. salt to my 10 gallon tank, and my fish (dwarf gouramis-2) have only gotten worse. Now they just sit at the top of the tank, motionless. This has been such a frustrating ordeal. Can anyone help me? PH is 6.9-I have not tested for nitrates, hardness, or nitrites. Tank is heavily planted and was set up 3 months ago with a two week fishless cycling period.

While since I bought some a couple of days ago... I haven't seen them eat at all.

I've been trying to feed them flakes, pellets, and blood worms but I haven't seen them eat any of it?

Then I started noticing one of my sharks had started to lose all its red color on its fin.

Would anyone please help me?

He has shot tail fins, and has always had a balance issue simply cos his body seems too big for his fins to deal with. But recently he's floating more than usual and getting these black edges on his fins.

I know this might sound strange but i picked up five cichlids from a friend and he told me they were from the same mother. If they grow up and there are males and females in the batch of five then would they do the german thing and mate or do the same family of fish not go into that?

This may sound like a stupid question. Can fish be given fruit like apples (of course in really tiny bits), or any fruit at all? I know you can put lettuce or other leafy vegetables in, but I'm just curious about fruit. I did a search and could not find anything. Thanks for any answers I get!

I've got 2 koi fish, 1 larger goldfish and some sort of unidentified black fish with a gold bottom. I've had them for 2 weeks, feeding them 2-3 times a day as reccomended. I cleaned their tank a week ago. Today I walked into the living room where their tank is and the smell blew me away. It smelled AWFUL! Not to be gross but there were all of these thick 2-3 inch fish poos floating around. I IMMEDIATELY cleaned the tank again, but what's going on? The tank was clean yesterday, and all of the sudden the fish are having issues. I know nothing about fish, so any help is appreciated.
