My betta has a very little White substance on his skin that is used for Flaring. I know it is not Ich. My betta 2" long.

Mostly likely a bacterial infection called columnaris (aka mouth fungus despite not being a fungus.). It most often attacks the mouth, and gills.

PS- This disease generally can't inflect healthy fish. Be sure you are keeping the water clean, temps in the 75-85F range, and not over feeding.

I agree with sabersquirrel. If indeed the fish is sick my first bet would be columnaris as well. Watch him closely for 24 hours before you decide to treat him. Only treat if the white area gets worse. It's possible that it's natural coloration that is only now showing.

I would suggest Furanace as the best treatment for columnaris. Second choice would be tetracycline. Just treat as per the directions on the box but treat for a full 10 days.

I highly agree with Magicman, It is obviously a fungus.
