so its been five days and their tank is pretty clean
cept the bottom which i clean everyday
should i be doing any water changes soon?
and how much should i change

I have a betta and apple snail that exist quite well together. They have been in a one gallon tank but I recently upgraded to a three gallon. I'm thinking about adding at least one other fish in a couple weeks after the betta gets used to his new surroundings. Is there enough room for another fish? And if there is, what is my best choice of fish?

I just bought him today, yet each time I've fed him, he just swims around on the bottom of the bowl, never once going up to the top of the bowl to get his food.

I have a one gallon beta fish bowl and I am thinking about putting 3 or 4 guppies in there. Is that possible or is the bowl too small or will my beta fish go crazy or so?

I just got it four days ago from petco. I got it because my son did a project at school and brought home a guppy. I wanted the guppy to have company so I went to the pet store and got 3 other fish. I got a Tetra which I took back because it kept nipping everyones tails. All the fish were hiding because they were scared. I got a danios and the tetra nipped its tail the entire first day. The next morning the tail was floating and the danios was dead. I took the dead fish back and returned the "evil" tetra. The people in the pet store told me to wait a few days before I introduced more fish to the tank. Now its just the guppy and the platy. The platy swims well but when I feed them the guppy goes to the top to eat and the platy just waits at the bottom or middle of the tank for the food to fall. I know it can swim to the top because I have watched it swim up there several times. Is this normal behavior for a platy and why does it just sit on the rocks like that 30min at a time?

Its a silverish blue main color, with an orange spot on the tail, im not sure if its a goldfish or a koi, it has whiskers, and a mouth like a koi but dosent look like the right shape on the pectorial fins... when i feed him goldfish flakes, he wont surface to get them most of the time, the pump pushing water in will push the flakes down then he will eat them, and he gose to town on the gravel, but spits it out....any ideas?... hes about 5inchs or so.. Thanx!

My first tank.... yeah! Finally ready to plug in my filter. I was waiting for it to pump water through all by itself but hasn't so far.... just loud.

Am I supposed to add water directly into the filter to help it get started? If so how much? A little? To the top? Will it balance itself out? Can't find the instructions.

I had a big fish tank and about 15 different fresh water fish. I also had a "fighter fish". Every time a day passed another fish would die. The fighter fish was actually killing the fishes.

I went to the pet store today thinking of getting my betta Omega One Beta food they had dried blood worms, and dried brine shrimp. Right now I'm feeding him betta bites (HBH brand) and I thought it would prevent him from constipation and maybe keep him healthy to change his food around.

Is this necessary?

If I do buy the food, which one's better? Bloodworms or brine shrimps?

How should I feed it to him? like 1 pallet of betta bite, 2 bloodworms...or just bloodworms today and pallets tomorrow?

Long question I know...just want the best for my fish~

i got a 55 gallon tank, i got a whisper 60 power filter on it. (filled with pig like fish, piranha, oscar) and i'm getting a 20 gallon long. and i was going to put this filter on the 20 gallon long and get either a emperor 400 filter or a whisper 60 power filter for the 55 gallon tank. which should i get?

My sister gets feeder fish for her fish and has noticed now that there are ver small white (they may be red) worm things in her tank. Appear to be swimming freely. She didnt notice until she was cleaning the outside of her tank. Any ideas on what they are and how to get rid of them?
