What fish would be best for a tank with 30% live plants?

Can I put in some agressive fish like Oscars?

What would a good filter for this (remmber it's just a few plants, not a garden!)?

Substrate info... substrate goes below the gravel right?...& there should be 3 inches high worth of gravel (one pound per gallon).

Should I deduct the amount of substrate from the amount of gravel that that is required?

hi! My beautiful guppy had 123 babys ( fry ) yesterday and they are all so small! I don't think that I can take care or even keep all of them when they grow into beautiful adults! What should I do and how much should I feed all them! It was the first time that I have ever had or even seen baby guppies and I am not so sure what to do! PLEASE HELP! thankyou!

Go figure I bought a pregnant guppy as my first fish lol. I've been reading up and apparently they have fry like crazy. I only have a 10 gallon tank so it's definately not enough space. Will Petsmart buy my guppies back, and if not what should I do with them if they grow up? Also the only other thing I have is a bowl without filters or anything and I'm guessing they'll probably die.

Ok so i have a 10 gall aquarium......right now i have two goldfish...a black moor.....sumkind of fantail thing...aka...fancy goldfish...and an algea eater thing.......i was gona buy one of those real little frogs that live in the water...i think they are called african dwarf frogs.....but will it jump out of the hole where my filter is...since it is kinda open back there!!

Shut up about the tank being too small....i jus got the 10 gal...iv had the 2 goldfish and the black moor for a year now in a 3 gal....so i htink they r fine!!!

I'm just starting a new tank of fancy tailed guppies. My friend just got a 55gal tank with five babies. I want two, i'm getting a male and a female from her and a really pretty female from the store. But my mom wanted me to find out how many babies they have because she dosent want like 1000000 tiny babies!

I already have two Golden Barbs in it, I was thinking of having two Angel Fish. I know about the inch per gallon rule, which means if I get two Angel Fish I'd be pushing it. Does anyone have any suggestions of community freshwater fish that would go well with the Golden Barbs?

I have a 10 gal. glass tank and I keep getting algae in it like crazy and I don't know why! I never had this prob. before in plastic tanks. I have one goldfish in my 10 gal. which shouldn't do much to the tank. Does anyone know how to stop algae from forming on my tank walls??? HELP!

Help! My African cichlid has just developed a large red bubble on his"chin" right between and under the gills. It's a hemispherical shape, fairly regular, maybe just under 1/4" in diameter. I have not introduced anything new to his tank lately. He had a water change about a week ago which may have been enough stress to set it off. I'm guessing it could be a bacterial infection but before I treat him i would like to know anyone has an idea what this could be?

I have been thinking about getting an oscar but first I have a few questions. Any help would be appreciated. Will only one oscar do o.k. by itself? If one will be fine by itself what is the minimum size of tank I should put it in. Finally what kind of oscar would you reccommend?

I have a black moor that is beat up pretty good. I have him in a tank with two albino corys.

I have some aquarium salt and some Melafix. (not yet, but I'm going to have them) The water that he is in was dechlorinated and I put some Stress Coat in there earlier. When my husband gets home with the Melafix and the aquarium salt, should I use only one or can I use both at the same time?

He's got some pretty good tears on his back, his eye, and his tail is tattered. I discovered earlier that my Tiger Barbs as well as my Serpae Tetra were attacking him. When I pulled the Barbs out, the Serpae took over. So I switched the tanks and put the Moor in the 10 gal and put the Barbs back into the 40 gal.

Another situation --- I still have a Beta in the tank with the Barbs and the Serpae --- He may be a target now that my Moor is gone. But still yet, I can't pull him out and put him in the 10 gal because the water will be too cold for him. Any suggestions?

We just got a new 10g tank with 7 fish. The water keeps getting cloudy and I can't figure out why. We asked at the pet store and they recommended something caled cycle every other day but it doesn't seem to be helping. Can anyone give me some good advice?

Wednesday 2/7/07 will be my third week of my fish tank having water in it. Have I waited long enough to get fish, if so what kind, and if not how much longer should I wait.
