Do you have a test kit for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? Did you cycle the tank or just set it up? You should find an article on cycling and then get the test kits before you even think about fish. Without cycling you will lose half the fish you buy.
You can get a guppies, platies, swordtails, barbs, tetras, rasboras, or otos. These fish all get small. A good stocking might be 3 otos, 5 barbs, and 5 tetras.

Thats perfect you did a great job waiting for the water to be ready. This means the fish that you buy will adapt to your water quickly. If you have a 10 gallon tank you could get tiger barbs. about 5 of them. Remember 1 gallon = 1 inch of fish. I have 3 green tigers and 3 tiger barbs. The green tigers are beutiful they have a very nice blue to green pearlescent color. I also recommend community fish. Mollies, sword tails (No more than 1 male), Tetras, which i especially like the bloodfin tetras. Mollies are good breeders in case you want babies in your tank every once in a while. I dont recommend agressive fish like chiclids, most agressive fish will grow to large for your tank. There is also a wide variety of Semi-agressive fish. Gouramies are one of my favorites and so are barbs. (Tigers albinos and more)
Good luck and happy fish keeping!!!!!

yea get some fish your best bet would be to start out with two of the same species or two of similar sizes, dont start out with a cleaner fish because your tank isnt old enough. Ireccomend buying a cheap little water tester or taking the water to petsmart to get it tested before buying.I would start out with a fish that eats flake food.(its easiest to feed) i hope that helped good luck. Have fun. (^.^)v

Do you just have a tank with water in it? What else do you have in your tank besides water. If you are cycling your tank, you will either need a bio wheel or something like a feeder fish to start off the process.

You're all set! Just remember, as hard as it is....go slow! Add just 1-2 fish for the first 2 weeks, then add just a few more each week until you get the one's you want to keep in there.
Don't forget to do your regular water changes every week too.

Good job doing your job and waiting. Unfortunately, your tank may not be finished with its cycle.
