Does anyone use a Seaclone Protein skimmer? I am looking to buy one but am not sure what brand to get. I was told they are ok. Is that true?

I wouldn't use a Seaclone if I was you. I've heard some negative things about them from fellow hobbyists. You can find more effective skimmers for around the same price or alittle higher. Brands I've used and would recommend are CPR Bak-Pak and AquaC for smaller tanks and Deltec for larger ones.

If there is any part of your tank that you should spend alittle extra on it's your skimmer in my opinion!

I've had one (replacement for another skimmer) running a few months on my saltwater - it seems to be doing a good job. I wasn't sure it would be very good at first because the intake sits so far below the water surface, where the "scum" seems to accumulate, but the collection cup fills about 1-2x a week. Just be sure to get one sized for the tank volume you have.
