I have A LOT of guppies, like about 50-70, in a 20 gallon tank and I don't know to get rid of them! They just keep breeding and none of them are sick or dying. That's a good thing but it doesn't solve the overpopulation in my tank. Could someone give me the link to a good fish store near 77356 that I can trust giving my fish and they can find good homes for them?

I am starting a 180 gallon salt water tank. I used a little live sand from a friend. The rest of my sand is fine crushed coral. I set the tank up tested all my levels(ph,salt and so on) all came out good. I let it set for a week before adding fish. When I did add fish to cycle the tank they all died with then min's. I took the tank apart, cleaned it all, sand,Filter, drained all the water out and started over. Went and got one fish and tried again and the same thing happened again. Dose any one have any ideas please help. I used no cleaners to clean the tank only water.

I am buying a 120 gallon tank w stand and accessories. The existing fish are "huge" and appear to be in great health. There are 6 of them. (One of them is larger than my small pomeranians!) PETCO employees had no idea - no suggestions at all. I need advice on the whole process of transporting fish and equipment. I appreciate any helpful advice.

I have three regular fish and am in North Carolina. I'm about to move to Texas. How can I transport them without them dying? We will be driving and it will probably take about two days to actually get home and get all the stuff set back up for the fish. I don't have anyone to give them to, but I don't want them to die. Help? Thanks to everyone who answers, God Bless.

I have a 30 gallon tank that I plan on filling the bottom with sand. What type of decoration should I get for my clown fish and crabs? Standard light, so I will have to use fake decor, but what do clown fish like to hide in? Thanks for your help people. And thanks to those of you who try :)

I have just started a new tank. I bought two types of test strip. One tests Nitrate, Nitrite, and Hardness. The other tests ammonia. I know how to use the tests, but how do I alter the results? If the results are off, how do I correct it? I'm a beginner and only know how to correct the salinity. So if you could tell me how to correct Nitrate, Nitrite, Hardness, and Ammonia it would be much appreciated.

I have a brand new 30 gallon saltwater tank and I need to know what all I could fit in it. I was hoping I could have 3 clowns(which is what someone told me they are best in 3's). I also want atleast an arrow crab, and some smaller inverts if possible. Please tell me how I should go about planning all that I can put in this tank. Should I get the clowns or the inverts first? If I dont have enough room for 3, how many do I have room for? Please share your insight. Thanks for your help.

My husband recently bought 4 fish for my daughters 5 gallon tank. I was not with him so I really am not sure what type of fish he bought nor does he remember. He went to one of the tanks and just picked out the ones he thought my daughter would like the best.
I'm thinking that 2 of them are sailfin mollies just because I know the store carries those. They have a similar body with blood red bottom fins (I don't know all the terms guys so please bear with me) A bright blue and red fin at the "butt" LOL and then a top fin that is also the blue and red color. The body of them are a brownish color. When they open up and spread the fins out they do look awesome!!!

More to the point, the other day I had to take the smaller of the two who only has one eye out of the tank because the larger one kept "nipping" at it. It was getting to the point where the "bully" would not leave the other alone for a second.
When the one eye would run though it kept getting stuck to the filter.(Continued)

I was just at Petco and Petsmart to buy a new goldfish because our old one died of a swim bladder problem. I looked in the tanks of each store and saw fish that were sucked to the filter, with ich, and others that simply couldnt swim anymore. These fish were worse then our local wal-mart's fish look sometimes. Our local fish store also has fish with swim bladder problems and a low supply right now..

Does anyone else have these problems?
Is there someone I can report this to?
Where can I get just ONE healthy goldfish?

So I just picked up a 20 gallon tank. At the moment I've transfered over my bio-wheel filter (from my old 10 gallon tank) which is good for "up to" a 20 gallon tank. I'm thinking I should get a bigger filter, now the heres my question, would it be better to just run one larger filter (still a bio-wheel), or two small ones on opposite ends of the tank?

Which one would offer more filtration? I don't care about cost, or the filter intakes hanging on the back of the tank.

If just one filter I assume bigger is better right?

I've looked everywhere. Is there even a difference between the two?

How big does a regular Neon get? And would it get along with a Jumbos? Could they school with each other?
