I would count on at least a 30 gallon to make a comfortable home for a single angel. Really a 29 gallon would be a better over all shape. These are one fish that can make excellent use of the taller tank shapes. A 55 makes a good tank for up to 4 angels in my opinion. The size given above is a typical adult size.

usually angelfish get about 6 inches (horizontally) and about 5 inches (vertically, not counting the fins on its back and on its underside), and for it to be comfortable id give it atleast 40 gallons... but 20 might work
