I only have a ten gallon tank. The little swordtails are in a breeding net on the side. Please help!

That's a tall order with only a 10 gallon tank to work with. First, be sure you remove any babies that have defects, they probably will not live long and it will thin out the numbers for you as well. Next, be sure to do frequent water changes on the tank. 40-50% every 2-3 days would be good. Feed them well with crushed up flake food several times a day but get out any extra food after 5-10 minutes. No doubt you will have to pick just a few to keep before long at all. Try taking the extras to a pet shop. They might not give you anyting for them, but they should take them off you hands if you explain your situation to them.

Fries tends to seek shelters around the surrounding side of your tanks to aviod predators (by instinct, not visual). But I do suggest you to give or sell away some of your swordfish to your friends or fishshop coz 50 babies is just too many for a 10 gallon tank.

Well don't take care of them unless you plan on buying a bigger tank. It's a sad reality a lot of people do not want to face - but if you cannot accomodate all the babies there is no reason is trying to keep them from being eaten by other fish.

It's better for them to die now rather then share a 10 gallon tank with 50+ fish. (they will continue to breed)

No fish stores will buy or even take them from you for free. (the ones that take them use them for food for bigger fish)
So seriously.. if you really want them, buy another tank and separate the sexes.

Well, I've never had swordfish but did have guppies which are prolific breeders. Guppies will eat their babies so I had one of those clear plastic "incubators" that hangs inside the aquarium. Fortunately, I also had plants that floated on top of the water so many could hide there until I noticed them and could dip them up and transport them into their playpen.

I don't know what type food you feed but they will need a real finely ground type as not to choke.

The breeding nets are okay, you'd be better off getting a small tank for them. I just feed mine high quality fish flakes, but there is a better kind of food out there. They should be fine...I have four fry.

You could start handing them out as gifts or ask your local pet store if they want them, they may give you like a store credit or something like that. Another idea get a bigger aquarium.
