We have a fishtank with about 6 fish in it, all of different breeds but they all get along. We have one fish, i think it is a molly, and it has babies nonstop! I am sure this is the fish having babies because she is very FAT constantly and she has one baby that lived and is almost as big as her. Thats right, she had a baby fish and she protected it and didn't eat it she even chased away the other baby- hungry fish. This baby is now quite big, looks exactly like mom and hangs around mom. BUt recently she had about 40 babies and they are all swimming around the top, yet she is still fat. She doesn't try to eat them and chases the others once again with her big baby's help. Who could she be mating with? The other fish are a clownfish, a platy , and 3 neon tetras. This is odd that she also protects her babies. Why? This is all confusing to me.
