I found a few websites that sell goldfish - the exotic kind that require a 55 gallon tank. I just want to send my friend a regular goldfish with a goldfish bowl kit (I found the kit). Thanks!! LanieBird.

I had three betta fish living together in a betta bowl and the orange one just killed one of the blue ones. Now I'm afraid to have the other blue and orange stay together in the bowl. They keep swimming near each other and threatening each other. How can I stop this?

I have had 2 x 3cm little black moors for just over a week in a community tank. Today one has developed SBD and floats to the top and keels over onto his side. Why does this happen? I noted that answers seem to suggest he will die.

Can you tell me what kind of fish this is? I've seen it before in a restaurant and it actually looks like it's smiling. I'd love to get one, butI don't know what it's called.

I bought some chiclids (yellow labs, electric blues & cobalt blues) about 45 days ago. They were only about 1" when I bought them and some of them are already up to 2" (most are only at about 1 1/2" still) What is the average growth rate for chiclids? How long until they get to be the huge 5" and bigger size? I know that they will all grow at their own rate and according to how much I feed them and tank size...so I am just asking in general, but here's my details...I feed them 2 times per day, 9 fish (3 of each) in a 55 gallon tank.

He is just lying at the bottom of the tank and can barely make it up for air... what should I do?

At the beach I like to walk at low tide, dinner time for seagulls. I have a habit, though, of saving those few unlucky crabs. I just take them from where a bunch of seagulls are and put him somewhere where they aren't. Then they bury themselves and I've just saved another life. But its not like the seagulls starve they get plenty of food from beachgoers during the day. I just can't stand the thought of them being dropped at thirty feet in the air and then eaten. Am i the only one who does this??

I might get one of these for free, either the 15 gallon or 29 gallon, so could it be used as a planted tank with shrimp in there?

I keep seeing pictures of Bettas on the internet who's fins are exploding, in other words, it looks colorful and shows. My Bettas' fins always lay down, so I was wondering how can you make his fins pop out.

Alright I have a new Crown Tail betta, he's a very active little guy. But I'm afriad he might be sick or something, he swims around like mad. This may sound stupid but there is a betta below him could he sense it's there and be stressed out trying to get to it? Or does he miss his old buddies that were in fish bowls next to him at the pet store. Any body who has betta fish with exprience please answer.

I just got my betta fish for christmas. My sister has one too, and she says for the past few days mine has not been eating much.

She kept it in a small plastic container for about 4 days until this morning. He was bedraggled looking and the water needed changing.

I did all that--correctly I might add (haha!) and put him in his new bowl, he seems happier but he still isn't eating and I don't know why? Should I take the food out... or what?
